Nokia N93 Cell Phone

I have found the Nokia N93 fabulous to have with me all the time. I can contact people on the phone with clear reception. Play music with good stereo sound. Access all the office gear I need while travelling. But most of all I Love the 2 cameras. It has good quality when using one as a conferencing phone, however the main digital camera lens for 30 min videos and stills is exceptional.
The image has dvd quality which I can play directly onto a tv. Editing all the clips can be done wherever I go and I can send them to family or friends or to my home site via bluetooth, infrared or ISP.
Even though it is a little bulkier than most new slim mobile phones it still fits into my older mobile phone pouch on my shoulder bag/ handbag or coat pocket..

Absolutely superb phone, amazing video camera and great still shots. This phone has been such a great asset to me. The perfect businessman's phone.

When you purchase a brand new mobile phone and have it in your hand it gives you that nice feeling of owning such a quality piece of technology at the higher end of the market. Ive owned 2 of these both in silver and black. Every time i take the phone out of my pocket it gives me that feeling of when i first got it and it looked amazing, after a while you tend to get bored of the same phone but i never did with this and i dont think i ever will.. It dosent matter how good the new releases get, i will always own a Nokia N93.

At first glance, the Nokia N93 is huge. Closer inspection reveals that, er... it IS huge, but that there's a good reason for it. The camera module, across the top of the device, has fixed dimensions and these rather dictate the overall thickness and width of the rest of the smartphone. In case you've been out of the solar system and out of touch with the smartphone world, and in terms of multimedia relevance, the features you really need to know about are:
The camera. 3.2 megapixels (2048 by 1536 pixels), with a unique (for S60) 3x optical zoom. What this means in practice is that you can zoom in to a factor of 3 before any digital zooming is applied. So, right up to that point, you still get the full 3.2mp resolution at full quality. Even the Nokia N90, its spritual predecessor, didn't have an optical zoom.


The camcorder. The same CMOS array is used, with the same Carl Zeiss optics but without the auto-focus, to capture video at VGA resolution (640 by 480 pixels) at 30 frames per second. Note that this isn't technically 'DVD-quality' (usually 720 by 576 pixels in Europe), but it's close enough for most practical purposes.


The screen. The 2.4" display on the N93 is fabulous. Really. The colours are gorgeous, the contrast is to die for, even outdoors in bright sunlight, and it's a great complement to the camera functionality.


The internal and external memory slots. 50MB of internal flash memory is where who should install most of your third party applications, so that you can keep the miniSD card for video capture. You'll need it. 10 minutes of video (typical for messing around with your family during a day out) will need 280MB. Take the N93 away for a week and you'll almost certainly be using up the lion's share of a 2GB card, especially when you factor in photos at over a megabyte a time.


UPnP. The N93 can connect to and interact with UPnP devices via WiFi. This includes the ability to share files on the N93 so they can be accessed via other UPnP devices or to access files on other UPnP devices (the N93 can copy them to its own memory). The N93 also acts as a UPnP remote control allowing you to control the media shown or played on other devices.


The Pop-port and TV-out lead. A first for a smartphone, the N93 can drive a TV (or any other AV equipment) directly via the supplied Pop-port to Composite (Red/Yellow/White) lead. This works brilliantlyand from any application, from RealPlayer to general applications to games. A dedicated 'TV out' utility lets you choose the TV standard to use (PAL/NTSC) and screen aspect ratio.

Most of the negative reviews about this phone are purely based on the fact that people did not recieve them. The review is about the product not the seller.

Camera is exceptional, video is great and MP3 is as good as ipod. Overall a great phone to have.

IT CANT (or wont) DO THE DISHES. But thats about all it can't do.
Never have i held such a piece of technology in such a small parcel. Connecting by Bluetooth, infrared, Wlan, email, fax or even phone, its all such a smoth operation.Even the action of opening the phone is class - its pure dairy milk. As for the camera/video. I forget that it is a phone. The quality is professional at 30fps. So much so - i'm concsidering trading in my new camcorder. And as for the name Nokia...you know its gonna be quality and have lots of additional freeware available. db

Excellent mobile sadly out of production now but my boy has had his well over a year now and it still has the wow factor when strangers see him using it.
Bit on the large and heavy side but if you like a phone that feels like you have a phone in your hand then this is the one for you.
I only have one problem with it in that it keeps turning itself off which my boy agrees with in that he has experienced the same thing.
Complicated for some of the 'not every day items' but then aren't all mobiles unless you are an avid 23 hour a day user.

I bought this phone for my girlfriend cuz she liked it very much. However, i dont know which feature she like best exactly. The only thing i notice is it costs me some money. lol.

I WOULD OF LOVED IT IF I GOT THE PHONE,DISLIKED THE FACT I HAVE NEVER GOT IT AND YOUR DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT AND THE FACT THE BUYER TOOK MY MONEY (£266)
AND I DECIDED TO BUY IT BECAUSE ITS THE UPGRADE OF THE PHONE I HAVE KNOW.

Super piece of kit...absolutely amazing..
One huge problem..:FROZE AFTER 2 DAYS OF USE AND HAD TO GO BACK TO NOKIA..
They still have it and I've been without a phone since.
Perhaps Nokia need to iron out ALL the Symbian 60 software problems BEFORE marketing such expensive equipment if it is going to be so unreliable.

I received the mobile today. I am very happy with the condition, which is nearly new. The package is just like what seller's description exactly. Everyhting included. However I am really confused about why the seller didnot reply to me when he dispatched his mobile after I emailed to him several times that make me worried about.He really got a bad response. Anyway he sent to me his mobile finally which make me satisfied with his good behavior.

Although a couple of years old now, still one of the better phones that Nokia have ever produced. Easy to use despite all it's wizardry and robust.

an excellant phone tha is a simple flip phone and turns into a 2 mega pixel video camera the screen can turn 180 degress to angle the view of your shot.
the phone comes with an expandable memory so its ready to fill up with all that footage..
this phone is well reccomended...

Only dislike is the bulkiness. I required a mobile phone which had a good camera set up.It is also useful with the addition of a SatNav mini SD card..

IT WAS A VERY CHEAP MOBILE AND CAUSE I LIVED LOCALY TO THEY LET ME COME OVER TO COLLECT IN PERSON WHICH SAVED ME ON POST AND PACKING . I WAS OVER THE MOOON WITH THE PHONE ITSELF AND YET THEY STILL THREW IN SOME EXTRA ACCESSOIRES .
IT IS GREAT TO GET A BARGIN AND MORE SO TO KNOW THERE IS PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO ARE HONEST AND KIND .

quality phone, may only have a 3.2 megapixel camera but quality is like no other phone garunteed.
you will never get tired of this phone as it has an infinate amount of features like Mp4, Wma, Real Player, WiFi, bluetooth and so much more

great if you've got kids or need camera and video on your phone.still second to none. does everything you want in a phone and doesn't brake like most, im a builder and its taken some real abuse.install tomtom and use it as a sat nav.it is big but what a phone plus you always know when you haven't got it on you. i could have upgraded to anything including i phone but bought another nokia n93 from here.my other one i've g given to her indoors just a bit scruffy now.

i decided to buy this product because i thought it was,the N93phone as the words described how ever insted it was a cd contaning the softwear etc for the n 93 mobil phone. i realise this after i had won the bid.

i had this phone for about a week and found it fantastic but sold it because it was too big for me. However the image has DVD quality. so if you want dvd quality recording then this is excellent

I purchased a Nokia N93i from G3i otherwise known as Wire Free World. When the much awaited package arrived, I found the telephone was missing from the Nokia box. G3i deny any responsibility as do PayPal through whom the payment was made. I am £444 out of pocket. Now you will understand why my rating was marked as poor. Be very carefull who you buy from and use a credit card, you have more chance in getting your money back when things go wrong. DO NOT USE PAYPAL!!!!
