Absolutely packed with features, sound is fantastic! Camera is ok, browser works probably as well as you can achieve right now on such a small device,
You can use your uploaded music files for ring tones and they actually sound very good.

  Nokia N91 after 1 year.

I have had the N91 for one year now and let me tell you that even though I was a bit concerned about its size and weight it now feel like I could not live without it.

I had the N71 before it, not itself a bad phone but this one is a great tool and outperforms it on every sector except, perhaps, weight.

It does everything it says it does on the box, the desk stand is very useful and stylish.

The battery lasts for longer than one would expect for this kind of feature packed phone, only needed to be charged after two days of fair use.

The metallic body is surprisingly scratch resistant and after one year the phone looks like it was bought last month.

It still has a "wow" factor that one would not associate with a phone this big.

Its 4GB hard drive is just unbelievable and it has only crashed on me twice in one year (my PC does it all the time, and is not carried around with me everywhere taking bumps and all kind of punishment associated with a crazy guy like me :-)).

Its sound is good as long as you throw away the supplied headphones (cumbersome, useless, no bass response). I would recommend the Sennheiser PX 100, probably the best budget headphones on the market, available on eBay for about £15-£25.

The only thing that makes me a bit sad about this phone is that is not the "SMS" phone around, its keys small and hidden in the sliding cover hole, making "sms-ing" slow.

The 2MP camera takes good quality pictures even though one needs to be perfectly still for them to come up clear.

All in all, the Nokia N91 is an achievement and a breakthrough in the manufacture of mobile phones, the reason it receives a good rating, its only negative side really being its small keys.

The memory is huge which is impressive, couldnt fill the mp3 memory!!! Although the phone is quite heavy, it more than makes up for it in features an it looks stylish too. I did have it freeze on me once, but as soon as i had the software upgrade, it never did it again.
All in all, it is a brilliant bit of kit...and I would say this would definitely be a guys choice of phone ( its big with loads of functions! )

After owning an Ipod video 60gb and a phone, id say the n91 is immense. I love it. Aparently the 1st batch that came into the country had a problem with the hardrive. thankfuly i had one of the later ones so ive had no problems. I have now ugraded the firmware which bumps the memory upto 8gb which is ace. also the looks of this phone is timeless and going to be very hard to match.

I bought this nokia because it is nokia! Although it's quite big phone it holds loads and loads of information. It has massive 4gb space! I prefer big screens and exactly this nokia has massive screen. More than happy about my purchase, however there is some problems unlocking new phones, so I had to resell it.

the thing i like most about this phone is the calander function. if you enter a memo for a certain day the heading of the memo appears on the screen on that day. when you have a memory like mine it is a godsend.
like all of nokia's smart phones it is easy to use, and has 4gig of memory, which is fantastic as the N91 has a dedicated music keypad.
the only down thing about the phone is that my wife has the same phone and she regularly takes mine to work

An mp3 player come mobile phone, this Nokia has it all.
Although slightly on the bulky side, for what is packed inside it is acceptably so.

  Nokia N91 4GB

This is an amazing phone designed for the music lover. I already have the newer 8GB version, but wanted a spare to put other music on. The in-built hard drive gives it amazing versatility.
Additionally, the phone utlizes the Symbian Operating System 3rd series. This allows the handset to run a wide array of software. The phone is like a miniature computer. The 2MP camera is also rather good for a phone.
The N91 series phones are designed for the computer minded music lover. The sound reproduction is amazing. Despite the 4GB pre-dating the 8GB, it is still a very good phone.
Importantly, one should try and upgrade the software/firmware using the Nokia tool. I did this and this involved downloading 48MB worth of firmware. Furthermore, one is not able to use the most up-to-date software/firmware designed for the 8GB version. One must be sure to state that the phone is the 4GB version when updating. Errors with firmware could potentially wreck the phone so, if uncertain about your ability to do this yourself, take it to a Nokia care point and ask them to do it for you. Interestingly, the 4GB phone I bought, although advertised as unlocked, still had O2 settings on it. Once the firmware was updated, all mention of O2 disappeared.

  Nokia N91 Mobile phone
Review created: 06/02/08
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Nokia N91 is a great phone, I have bought and sold many of these phones. They are very very stong if you drop them they do not break so easy but then you have have to carry a big steel phone around which does not easily fit in most pockets. Nokia's N91 comes with a built in hard drive and brill Nokia music headset so cuts down on carrying around a ipod, the camera is good nothing special just does the job. On the net you can find 000's of software, applications and themes for this phone and hve it the way you like it. Another point is that because of the age of the N91 you will always find it at bargin prices on ebay.

  Communication & Dispute resolution
Review created: 03/10/07
by:

I'd have to say that communication between sellers and buyers quite admirable and product description for each individual purchase was as described. unfortunately, some sellers tend to hype the state of items to excellent and promise more accessories than they actually send. The phones were on average good value for money. I was impressed by the packaging of the item and quite happy to finally own an N91 at reasonable price plus accessories. In the case of disputes between buyer and seller, the mechanism set up by ebay leaves both parties feeling quite at ease with each other.

  The Nokia N91
Review created: 24/08/09
by:
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Time came for my upgrade this year and it's probably the first time in ten years that I really could'nt see a handset that stood out or I liked.I have had a Viewty for the past eighteen months and its a great reliable phone thats been dropped a few times and keeps on working...only downside to it is that it takes great photos but its simply not sraightforward transfering them to your pc.So the market is now flooded with square touch screen phones that all seem the same. The Nokia N91 is a few years old now and was pretty expensive to buy when it first appeared unless you were a contract customer that could obtain it as an upgrade..which I did'nt at the time. This is a handset that you will love or hate. Its large and heavy but is also solid, well made and looks stunning in my opinion and I personally prefer a chunky phone.I would say it has the best ear piece quality during calls of any phone I have ever had..nice and loud with a deep rich tone. For a large phone the number and letter keys hidden behind the slide down flap are suprisingly small and would be fiddly to use for anyone with large hands and fingers.A few other quirky features are that the menu button is placed on the side of the phone which takes a while to get used to and there is no automatic keygaurd feature...there is a slide across locking switch on top of the phone rather like an I Pod.One of my main reasons for buying the N91 is that my I Pod has recently packed up and 4 gb hard drive on this phone is going to hold a lot of music, which you can listen to through headphones of your choice thanks to the standard headphone jack on top of the phone. The camera is only a 2mp but takes really nice crisp photos and the microphone for video recording is really good, took some film at a loud outdoor gig and there is hardly any distortion at all.The biggest drawback without a doubt and something to consider very carefully before buying one of these is the Symbian software, the phone will work perfectly fine for hours and then will freeze for no reason, also you can have files on your phone that it will happily play one minute and will tell you its an unsupported file type the next. Its such a beautifully made and good looking phone and the software operation is just so so annoying. You will need to slide the back off, flick the battery out then in again then turn the phone back on...as when it decides to freeze the on/off button wont work either.I believe a lot of the Nokia smartphones with Symbian have a reputation for slow running, the N91 software runs fine like any standard Nokia it's just the unpredictability of when it decides to freeze on you.I have read reviews where it has been said the N91 turns itself off but mine has not done that.To sum up this has to be a phone that you really have to want, there are no doubt much better handsets on the market today...but if you can put up with its software glitches is is a cracking phone.

I like the construction of the phone. It feels tough and able to deal with any bump or drop that may occur. I disliked the sometimes complex menu system especially the music transfer via bluetooth. It seems to fill up a memory that cannot be found. I bought the phone because I wanted to update my SPV M2000. I wanted a phone that had a good camera, a good pda, good music player and also a wireless LAN facility. Un fortunatly I found the screen far to small, having been used to the M2000. Not having a touch screen was again to much of a loss. I have now given the N91 to my daughter who has put hundreds of songs on it. I got it for a good price, there's no fault with the phone, it's just I missed my M2000 too much.

  Nokia N91 Mobiule Phone
Review created: 11/06/08

I love this phone. It is big but it fits in your hand nicely. I bought it because it has a big internal memory (hard drive). My other phone, a Nokia 3250 is fantastic but it can be a bind taking out the micro sd card sometimes, plus it only takes up to 2gb cards.

Although I have had no trouble with it, apparently it can be a pain as you have to occassionally go to Nokia website to upgrade software for it otherwise it won't work as it should! I bought my phone already updated and I've had no problems.

One more thing as a small minus is that the number keys are a bit on the small side. I have small hands but they can be a little fiddly to use, so perhaps not so good for someone with large hands.

Another great feature on this phone is the slide lock on the top of the phone. It stops you playing music accidentally should you press the button for it. The slide works smoothly and there should be no accidental calls made.

All in all, I'd give this phone 8/10.

  N91 Review
Review created: 18/03/08
by:
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The Nokia N91 mobile phone certainly has the 'wow factor'. It's a music-playing mobile that can store up to 3,000 songs and can take photos in two megapixel quality.

Okay, let's look at that figure again. Three thousand songs. Or, if you prefer, the equivalent of playing non-stop music for a week without listening to the same song twice. How on earth can you fit all that on a mobile phone? Simple - just include 4GB of memory. In fact, not only does the Nokia N91 have more memory than many stand-alone music players, it also plays more types of music file. This incredible device will handle AAC, MP3, Real, WAV, WMA and a few others too. It has a 5-band equaliser and comes complete with its own stereo headphones, although a standard 3.5mm headphone socket on the handset lets you use your own if you prefer.

As you'd expect from Nokia, there's much more to this phone than just music. The two megapixel camera takes excellent photos and can even be used for recording video clips. Connectivity is amazing, with the options of Bluetooth, USB, WiFi and 3G - plus email, the internet, picture messages and text. The Nokia N91 has set a new standard for music-playing mobile phones. Definitely wow.
