Nokia E71 Cell Phone

This phone is brilliant, better than the iPhone or Blackberry.

Sure it doesn't have as big a screen as the iPhone, but try using their touch screen qwerty keyboard and fitting it in your pocket. To be honest the Blackberry is just as good as this phone, but it costs a lot more.

The E71 is the best value for money phone available at the moment. It uses the same processor as the iPhone and iPhone 3G. The new model E72 uses the same processor as the iPhone 3GS, but it will be expensive as it is just coming out now in September 09.

What I do with my phone:
Nokia Messaging Service from email.nokia.com - Push email like Blackberry without the fee
Google Mobile apps from m.google.com - Google Maps, google search, gmail, google sync
Route66 installed - use it instead of expensive standalone Satnav, just get a stand for the phone in your car
Gravity - the best twitter application on any mobile device
SportsTracker - Excellent app this records your jogging, running etc. route, distance, speed and plots it on a map for upload. Saves buying expensive devices like the Garmin 350.
Use the phone a an mp3 player
Watch Tv on the phone, live or with encoded videos

I think the 'E' in E71 must stand for Excellence as this is the best Nokia handset I have used in long time, and I have used a fair few of them!

Battery life is great along with good sound quality in calls, the keyboard is spot on. It also feels and looks great, feels solid and looks the business.

Very happy with this, do not hesitate if you are considering one.

I am very impressed with the Nokia E71. It has a very comprehensive feature list which is optimised for the business person or IT intensive individual. This includes automatic access to email via cellular communications or Wifi amd an inbuilt GPS positioning system and maps. All the usual features of voice communications and a camera are included. A comprehensive and ergonomically easy to use bundle.

For the product I get, very good condition, but the box is not very new. So I thinks it is not a total new one but I am ok with it. It is at very good condition very very very close to New. Thx

Good battery life even when browsing the web etc.

Loads of features such as the gps (i use an external bluetooth gps receiver as the integrated one is a little slow) and radio have had lots of use from me.I especially like the proper minature qwerty keyboard! No more fiddling around with alphanumeric keys,which makes sending e-mails and texts a joy. The bluetooth range is good too..... Useful for googling things whilst using the pubs free wifi when there is a quiz,or wherever you happen to be!

Nicest feature is its slim profile and quality feel in the hand.

It even works well to make and recieve phone calls - including abroad. (after all it is a phone first and foremost)

I would be suprised if anyone buys one of these and hated it.

i like this phone it is a personal organiser allowing myself to have shortcut button for ease of access, though i dislike that i cannot have an alarm clock as a ease of access shortcut which this is what i use all the time, and i'm sure most people do. having to go in to Menu - Office - Clock - Alarm - Set Alarm which could of been simplified to Main Display - Alarm(shortcut).
I brought this because i liked this phone, it was pcket friendly which doesn't buldge out and also the fact that it has many applications and wanted to try the qwerty keyboard.

From day 1 the e71 has worked perfectly , with no hick-ups & no dropouts. If you want a phone for business or private use you can't do better than this.

This is a great phone very sleek and good looking . I did think it was a little complicated to use at 1st but after messing about i got the hang of it . Now i have im so glad i didnt give up its a great phone the wifi is great im on the internet at home on my phone for free! Reading my emails is great. Im a girl who doesnt want complicated things but this phone has everything i could need plus loads i probably dont really good for a buisness man i think with the fact you can change modes from work to personal just great . 100% Recomend

Best phone I have ever had. Usefull for absolutely everything: email, internet msn, facebook, skype. After few months still no issues at all.

The keyboard is amazing, with my big fingers i manage easily to type correctly, thanks to the specialdesign of the buttons. The phone is well bouilt and it can be used for every occassion what for you would use a mobile device.
I am really happy with that, ith makes my life at university far more easier.

The best thing about this phone is the way the buttons and layout of it, it also includes wifi, which is perfect if you are in a office worked base or even at home, you can check you email, facebook and even youtube.

I searched for one of these after a colleague showed me his one.

The Company I work for rolled out a certain touch-screen PDA so we could access emails and other Web-based Company apps on the move. These were a total disaster, unable to connect, had to remove the battery at least twice a day as it had hung, and just making a call was a nightmare.
I won the E71-1 for a reasonable price, the centre chassis is cracked near the DC socket and I have to wiggle the charger plug to make connection, but, apart from that it is brilliant. It took me around thirty minutes to set up all the connections and settings I needed,and off it went, no problem. I charge it when I remember,battery is excellent, it's Mega slim, cool looking, and it just works!! Also, the Nokia PC Suite and OVI suite is Ace. Hats off to Nokia.
My dreaded Company PDA is now back in its box, best place for it!

Best on the market and much better than any Windows device that hangs at the drop of a hat. Nokia clearly lead with the E71, E63 and the forthcoming E72.
What would I buy - a cheap E71? or wait for the E72.

But it's only a phone and after all why else buy it.
The look and feel: bog standard BlackBerry look-alike but efficient battery management makes this a long-lasting piece if used purely as a phone. Use any of the many applications, and watch that battery dive. All the apps work, some clunky, some promise-a-lot-but-still-clunky, none of them are a patch on the main rival's apps.
The radio, music player and the picture and video apps are surprisingly good for a business phone but would you shell out serious money just for the convenience of not having to lug your MP3 or 4 player around. Don't buy it for the Nokia Maps and the GPS; they suck.
So waht's left. Ah yes, the phone. Inside it's just a straight Nokia phone. Good sound, very good small speaker, good bundle of free ringtones with all the usual sound effects but like multiple shower-heads, you only ever use one unless you are very bored or have too much time on your hands both qualities condemning someone to cool-purgatory.
Love the text-to-speech facility which means it announces the caller's name as long as they are in the Contacts list.
The compact full qwerty keyboard is not for the fat-fingered but will suit everyone else and the navigation keys are slick (cannot imagine why the forthcoming E73 had to fiddle with it to improve it), responsive and well designed.
This is a good phone. The add-ons are so-so.
I can imagine that it would sway some to part with serious money for one of these.
Self-deception is an art much practiced but never mastered.

i love the size, the one hand typing, nokia maps and the sexy look. great value for money against the black berry.
what more, its a nokia so you are garanteed longitivity. accessories are common and cheap to buy.

what i hate about it is, it look too sexy it looks frigile. you are always worried not to drop it. camera is only 3.2, i thought nokia will atleast make 5.0 cus lately some common phones have all got 5.0 camera
