If the phone had been genuine, then I would have given the rating a stellar excellent but I end up with a fake Nokia 8800 Arte phone. I already have one of the genuine phone so I know how good the phone is, made me decide to bid one on ebay for my girlfriend so we could have a "couple phone". In the end, I received a fake one, paid it for 300+ pounds. The welcome note was Windows OS!!! Obviously a fake!!! Built quality and the packaging is tacky. And made in china, while a genuine one is made in Korea, Finland or Germany!
Tips before buying:
1) Do not bid for one if the cover of the box looks very shiny as if it was laminated, that one could might be a fake.
2) Ask what are the contents of the phone. Make sure it has all the extras, like charger bay, bluetooth headset as it should come standard with a genuine one.
3) Do not try to bid on one if the seller says the phone is originated from China.
4) Do not bid if the seller say it will be sent to you around 2 wks, while the item location is in UK! Unless they have legitimate reasons like the phone is custom made e.g. special/custom gold plated Arte.
5) Lastly and the most important thing is ask for the IMEI no of the phone from the seller - check the no with the nokia care at 0845-0455555 and ask if the IMEI is an existing genuine phone.
So anyone out there who is thinking of bidding or buying a Nokia 8800 arte phone, be careful. Take cautious steps before commiting yourself in to a bid.
Regards to all the honest ebayers!!!
