Nice little phone. Yes, the menu is the 'same old Nokia' menu, but as with all Nokia's -
a) it's simple and functional
b) it doesn't crash.
If you want a good basic clamshell phone without the problems associated with other brands - then go for it.

The Good
The phone is very good as a phone, it is light, small, affordable (if second hand), stylish and has lots of space for Text messages. There are also 5 shortcut keys that can be used to open anything on the phone, i.e. you can write a new text message by the press of a button, rather than going to "menu", then "messages", then "create message" and finally "text message". Their are 25 possible shortcuts, including switching to Silent mode from Loud, turning on the radio, you can even set the time by the press of a button! The signal strength always seems to be very good, a lot better than my old phone. The phone can be customized with pictures for the exterior screen and a different picture for the interior screen, you can also add screen savers that can be different for both screens.
The bad
A few problems I have had with the phone mostly revolve around the lack of space for songs and games. You only get about 2 or 3 megabytes of space. A mp3 song takes up about 1 megabyte and a good game, like splinter cell takes up about 0.3 megabytes. My brother has a phone that actually costs the same amount as this one and it has at least 30 megabytes of space (I don't know the actual value, it is a lot though).
Another problem I found, which isn't such a problem but more just something to complain about, is the general slowness you get when using the phone, you press a button and have to wait about a whole second for it to load. It doesn't happen very often (about 15% of the time) and it may not sound like a big problem but it can be frustrating if you just want to get something done. Also, I was told that there is no bluetooth on this phone.

This is an excellent way of getting a phone without changing your sim card, a lot cheaper than from the stores.
The phone is a little outdated but holds a better charge than most of the newer ones.
It is easy to use and has all the features of the up to date ones but at a fraction of the price.
If you want to connect to the web then DO NOT choose this one.
Should you want a phone to phone,text or take photos then choose this one, it,s GREAT.

My partner liked this phone when she had it.
It is a nice size, and shape, being a flip phone.
The twin screen idea allows you to see who is calling before you open the phone.
It has a camera, but it is poor quality compared to modern phones.
During our ownership we had two issues with it.
The first was it came up with the headset sign in the screen. This apparently is a failing on them, as they are susceptible to small amounts of moisture causing this problem, so do not store yours near cold cans of drink.
Secondly, may have been due to our use, but the sticky coloured covers began to peel off around the aeriel.
Other than that, the usual Nokia ease of use, and reliability.

Great phone in excellent condition. Lovely replacement of my old phone. Quite surprised how much I like it! Phone has usual nokia workings, tried the samsung, but nothing beats a nokia.#

bought for my wife who has mastered Nokia's and didn't want to start again with a different phone system. She likes the phones features - screen size; size of the keys, and the ease of using the navigation pad. Overall an average phone which; after only a few months; is showing signs of wear - hesitation in navigation pad responses and key pad characters are fading.

I bought this phone because i fancied a change from my samsung e600 that id been using with no problems for almost 2 years.
I jusr fancied a change.
I bought it for a bargain, brand new on ebay for £35 when the average price is £150 +.
And for the price i paid if is a good phone, just didnt live up to expectations.
The true tones i downloaded arent of great quality, i downloaded a few games and thats my memory gone. with a grand total left for 6 photos.
The camera isnt the best quality, and seems a bit fuzzy compared to my e600 that could store 500 pics.
its also slow, if you press the up or down buttons more than once is takes a few seconds, sometimes more.
Also, its not very sturdy & not build to last.
I dropped my e600 almost on a daily basis and it was only after i dropped in in the road was any cosmetic damage evident.
I dropped the nokia 6101 the following day i got it, inside the house and the white part has 7 scratched on it that has black underneath, the front screen and the aerial also have scratches.
In a nutshell- dont think id go for it again.
Its also one third bigger than my e600 and only comes with 1 battery unlike the samsung.

I bought this phone as I have had the same model for 3 years now,the front screen was distorted on my old one. I love this phone I find it a very good size for both handbag and pocket. No worries about accidently turning it on as it is a flip phone.There is nothing I dislike about the Nokia6101.

Nokia 6101 - superb little phone well worth buyingI love these little phones, worn my last one out on the hinge, think there is a slight fault with the phone on this.
Recommend them to anybody who wants a small pocket size phone which is simple to use.

Nokia 6101This is my second 6101. It does everying I need it to. The keypad is clear. For me the best aspect is the longevity of the battery. The charge lasts for ages. While waiting for this phone I tried a Sony Ericson phone which drove me mad and it had to be charged every day. My 6101 I may only charge every couple of weeks. It certainly gets my vote as a compact/versatile phone.

I decided I wanted an older Nokia as the new ones have small buttons and I have quite large hands! I got my 6101 for a very reasonable price - £15 inc. p & p - and it's great! The camera works perfectly well and the keypad is nice and large for my big fingers! A great buy.

Nokia 6101I purchased this phone because the nature of my husbands work- he prefers a phone that flips down therefore keeping dirt out. He already has one and I bought this one to replace it but unfortunately it only worked for one week then the screen went blank.

Nokia Flip Phone 6101
) I have had a Nokia 6101 for about 2 years. Unfortunatley it got dropped the other day and is not operating now. So I was delighted to purchase a replacement - I just love the phone and its simplicity and neatness. Easy to use buttons and also large font can be selected for texting which helps when you are a little short sighted. Camera OK - it is not state of the art but works ok. But I just love, love, love this phone. It is pretty basic compared to lots of more modern phones but if you want ease of use and reliability go for it.......

I am not a mobile-phone userI never use a mobile phone - I just keep one in the car for emergencies. This one was so cheap (because the flip-lid's spring didn't work!) that I bought it to replace a very old Nokia. It is elegant, but has too many bells and whistles for me, because I don't want to send or receive information/gossip by this means, and certainly do not want to take or send photographs from its mini-camera.
