Nokia 3310 - the world's old favourite mobile

This mobile phone is now a classic icon. When it first came out quite a few years ago it rapidly became the world's most popular mobile phone ever. It was probably the first realistically small mobile to offer so many new and majorly-important features. These days the top-of-the-range phones offer much more, of course, including built-in cameras which the 3310 lacks (although a camera accessory was eventually available for it and simply plugged in). It is dual-band and works almost everywhere except USA, has intelligent predictive text with built-in dictionaries in many languages, an apparently infinite range of fancy covers, internet capability, and of course the usual gimmicks (alarm clock, calculator, reminder alarm, a few standard basic games, variable ringtones and composer, one-touch dialling, selectable tones unique to each caller, etc etc etc.) These originally retailed for close to £100 or so as far as I can recall; one can still pick them up nowadays (used!) for well under £15, which is good value for such a feature-packed user-friendly mobile. If you're looking for a small basic easy-to-use call-and-text mobile and don't need high-resolution colour pictures or a built-in camera or the very latest unnecessary gimmicks, then this is the phone for you. Or maybe just as a cheap spare backup or a child's first mobile phone (unlikely to be snatched, inexpensive if lost/damaged, easy to use).
