I BOUGHT THIS CAMERA TO REPLACE AN EARLIER MODEL AND WAS SUPRISED HOW MUCH IT HAS IMPROVED,THE SCREEN IS LARGER AT 2 INCHES AND THE PICTURE IS BRIGHT AND CLEAR,IT HAS AN 8X DIGITAL ZOOM AND MOTION STABILIZER.
AS A STILLS CAMERA ITR PERFORMS VERY WELL GIVING RESOLUTIONS UP TO 6.6 MEGAPIXELS,THE VIDEO PERFORMANCE IS REASONABLE AS WELL AT 640X480 AND 30FPS FOR VGA AND 320X240 FOR QVGA.
IT HAS A MISERLY 16MB INTERNAL MEMORY AND WILL ACCEPT SD CARDS UP TO 512MB.
THE LI-ION BATTERY SEEMS TO LAST FOREVER AND IS GOOD FOR ABOUT 2HRS OF GENERAL USE BUT LESS IF THE FLASH IS USED.
PHOTOS PRINTED FROM THE CAMERA ARE GOOD BUT THE LIMITATIONS OF THE VIDEO ARE SHOWN UP IF DISPLAYED ON A LARGE SCREEN TV.
THE CAMERA COMES IN A NICE FLIP TOP BOX WITH A TINY REMOTE CONTROL AND A CARRY CASE THAT CAN BE FITTED TO YOUR BELT FOR EASY ACCESS,A CHARGERR,USB LEAD,TV LEAD AND SOFTWARE ARE ALL INCLUDED THERE IS ALSO A SMALL SET OF HEADPHONES TO LITEN TO YOUR MP3 FILES.

What a great camera! It's a shame NISIS went out of business, but they produced a fantastic wide range of pocket DV Cameras, including the DV5 and the DV6. I own both of these and find them equally enjoyable to use! Buying them on eBay saved me loads of money and if I wanted similar in the high street stores I would look towards paying £2-300.00. The features are marvellous and the DV6 is particularly easy to use and the menu gets easier and easier the more you use it! You can buy SD cards (512mb) on eBay for under £6 which again makes it very affordable. The RRP of a DV6 in 2005 was £199.00. It's not worth looking at Amazon as you'de be totally shocked by their prices (I was!).
The video editing and capture software is very intuitive and is more successful in burning to DVD or CD than MS Movie Maker.
I wouldn'd recommend spending more than £50.00 (inc postage) for one of these but, depending how much you want one, you may wish to shell out a few more pennies! Whatever you spend, you'll get one of the smallest of footprint pocket DVD cameras for a snip (or is that snap?).
To summarise, I like everything about it. If you use it properly it will serve you well. You need to buy some SD cards as you'll be quickly disappointed by the internal memory which is totally inadequate. It's also a bonus having the rechargeable Li-on battery (supplied with charger)!
