On the downside, the machine's enhancements are more cosmetic than anything else, simply offering gamers a less cumbersome, more stylish way of getting their New Super Mario Bros. or Magnetica on. But when that's the harshest criticism current admirers can level at the unit, which will surely continue to spark sales of the deservedly acclaimed DS platform (17 million of the devices have already been snapped up worldwide), hey… Be thankful. It's not like we're looking at another N-Gage QD.

I bought the product as my wife had been after one for a while and it made a great birthday present for her.

The Nintendo DS is easy to use and very addictive! The graphics in this game are better than expected. This model is the black one and looks stylish and grown up! It takes some getting used to after having had a gameboy but once you have spent some time on it, it gets easier.
It is a bonus that the old gameboy advance games can be played on it too. Infact I can't find anything that I don't like about it!

Helps me improve my brain while keeping kids out of my hair while im trying to do other things. That alone is worth anything.

I have been thinking of buying a ds lite for some time ,so glad i got one .They are a excellent console i rate this one over any other hand held

My little sisters have wanted this console for some time so when one of their birthdays came up I decided it would be a great present. I would mainly recommend it to younger/new console players as it is easy to navigate and has fun and entertaining games. However, not exciting enough for older, more experienced players, therefore I would recommend the PSP. Nonetheless, a great choice for entertainment!

I was introduced to this amazing little machine by my grandaughter who insisted I play her Brain Training game!! I enjoyed it so much that I bought my own ,complete with a couple of games, and have managed to reduce my 'brain age' considerably!! I am now onto Scrabble and Sudoku too. If you are considering buying one - go for it - especially you Grannies & Grandads (these aren't just for the kids you know!) - you won't regret it. Screen and graphics are very good. The only problem I had was, when hoping to play games on a long car journey, I couldn't see the screen as it was too bright and sunny!

We decided to buy the DS because we wanted to do brain training on it (and it's likely we could do other things as well). It has turned out to be a really excellent thing to use for both learning and amusement and would suggest that if it had a diary mode and access to the intranet (there is a rumour that the next version will have the intranet bit), it would be just perfect.
Here's the boy's take on it (who uses it most).
The thing I dislike about it is when you are in pictochat and you accidentally remove a game card (or GBA) The screen goes pink and you have to cut the power.
I like the DS because it has so many features (download play, Pictochat, Light effects, Options menu).

This games console is brilliant,I bought one for my sons birthday,the graphics are great and the sound is superb.

I dont know much about this item except the that my teenage daughter does nothing except rave about it,she reckens it is the next best thing after sliced bred.

I bought it for my younger son who has been desparate for a DS Lite for ages. He loves the colour(crimson).
The game screen is tiny so it took our son a little while to get used to, because he is used to playing PS3/Wii on big screen tvs, but he soon got into it.
Getting a games bundle is fantastic value for money- we got a bundle of 120 games and it saved so much money compared to buying the games separately! The games our younger son doesn't want to play his brother and sister do want to play so all the games will be used also.
We love it and think anyone getting a DS Lite should definately try to get a bundle of games to go with it.

Bought as a birthday present for a 10 year old. This will be her second nintendo. The first one (not a lite) she saved up for a year to buy herself and has had almost 3 years of constant use. Brilliant play value and is now looking very much worse for wear and old fashioned. I was bought a ds lite for my birthday and it looks so much sleeker, better stylus, better shape etc. The blue/black one is a US colour which looks very flash and I know she will be delighted with it as are we at the good price we paid on ebay compared to the retail price. if buying one of the US colourways you need to be sure there is a UK charger included - which this one has.

excellent clear screen, high quality graphics. The screen can be a bit reflective though. The stylus game play is nice- you feel more involved than you would just using buttons. Generally very nice to play with, but I do get a sore wrist from holding it and opperating the buttons- it could be more ergonomic.

This product arrived to me within a week after buying it and it looked just like the picture. I was so happy to have my nitendo because it was in my favourite colours, red and black and i also liked the dragon drawn on the front. I think this product rates far better than the normal nitendo ds lites because it stands out. I dont know what else to say because this product has made me speechless. It was so cool!

Originally purchased solely for utilising the 'Brain Training' series, this light, compact unit will be an ideal companion for me at home, when travelling or during breaks at work. I am pleasantly surprised by its ease and flexibility of use. Owners are able to interact with other Nintendo DS Lite users and a large range of games and accessories exist at relatively low cost. Take it with you wherever you go. You'll be gripped!!

arrived 3 days late for my sons birthday seller never answer my 1st or 2nd email only repleyed when he had sent it however did give me a free game but my son and i were dissapointed

This little package will go anywhere in your briefcase or handbag and is better than having a magazine in the doctor's or dentist's waiting room! You can get addicted.

It isn't just for kids and I am finding more and more friends buying these for themselves to play 'Srabble', or 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire'. Sitting training their brains and wondering why they never paid more attention in maths at school. If you see someone who appears to be shouting colours out at their lap then the chances are they are hooked. And so could you be. you can buy a Nintedo DS Lite, with a game for about £100, but on e-bay you can usually get a great deal with several games, charger, protective case and other covers thrown in for a great price.

It's a BRILLIANT console, specially as a Gift for daughter's aged between 5 and 14 Years old! I've considered other options, but the Portability / Available Games for Girls / Graphics Quality / Overal enclosure dimensions & Screen protection, made-it the IDEAL GIFT! I see the happiness on my Daughters eyes, ensuring i did the right option!

I love the touch screen, and the colour and it's good that you can just shut the lid in the middle of something (without turning off the power) and it automatically goes to a low charge mode so you don't waste battery charge!!!!
The only problem is that the charger wire is really small so if you want to play on it whilst its charging you have to be near a mains plug!
