Everyone's trying to slim down – Nintendo included. Witness the newly debuted DS Lite (£99), a smaller, sleeker and generally better designed model of the popular DS handheld, which improves upon its predecessor in almost every conceivable way.
From tangible weight and size reductions to a new button layout, sharper visual performance and repositioned stylus holder, it's a welcome addition to the Japanese giant's celebrated family of portable consoles. So if you haven't gotten hip to the dual-screened diversion's charms – i.e. touch-sensitive titles experienced through top- and bottom-mounted visual displays using a stylus or d-pad- and button-based front-end – now's the perfect chance.
On the downside, the machine's enhancements are more cosmetic than anything else, simply offering gamers a less cumbersome, more stylish way of getting their New Super Mario Bros. or Magnetica on. But when that's the harshest criticism current admirers can level at the unit, which will surely continue to spark sales of the deservedly acclaimed DS platform (17 million of the devices have already been snapped up worldwide), hey… Be thankful. It's not like we're looking at another N-Gage QD.
I like this small and neat console. It is very light and modern. I love the graphics, and the games are excellent - plenty choice of games also. As I have only had my DS for 2 months, I have not yet found anything to dislike about it.
The Ds is a very easy consul to use, there are so many games to chose from so the hours just fly by. It was supplied with the addaptor required for uk use so it could be used straight from the packet.
i decided to buy one of these things afte playing touchmaster on my mum's boyrfriend's ds. I liked the idea of being able to play card games when and where i wanted without throwing cards about the place.
Admittedly when i was younger, i was a computer gaming freak and since breaking the habit i was sceptical about buying another one-would i get addicted again???
However the console is nice and lightweight, if fits anywhere (tho i recommend getting a crystal case to keep it's shiny outer nice) and i have simply disciplined myself to about 2 games. Don't be shy about it-you won't be labelled as a gaming freak if you own one-the games designed for it are actually helpful and you can learn alot from them if that's the kind of reason you want one.
If you travle alot or commute on trains etc, i recommend it for that! Get touchmaster or some puzzles to go with it and it's all you need.
It really is nice for adults to use.
I havn't done anything with the wifi connection doobrey yet because not many of my friends own a ds let alone a ds with the same games as me!!
so yeah, all in all a handy little machine-very easy to use.
if you are after something with awesome graphics-then i'd say that the ds isn't for you-try a psp or something. I hear they're good for that.
great product lots of games available, no wires needed to play multiplayer games and only 1 player needs to own the game. haven't had any problems with console and make an excellent gift for birthday or christmas.
Great item. All the games are on one cartridge. This may not suit everyone but as I have bought this as a present for my son, I feel it will be easier to keep the games tidy and not have to walk into a room full off boxes lying all over the place and the inevitable missing game/case scenario.
i loved the fact that you get a brand new ds with +games but what i didnt realise was is that the games are all on one chip. Now i suppose that isnt a bad thing but it isnt advetised as games on chip so i was a little dissapointed.THE CONSOLE ITSELF is a really good buy excellent for kids and adults. I would say good buy for all ages
This item is fantastic. Everything about it is superb. Colour is great, works perfectly. Not just fun for the kids but the adults too! Don't know who the biggest kids are when these toys are out!!!!! Brought this item from a great seller on ebay and would recommend to buy from them too. 10/10 product in every aspect.
Item Is barnd new, and has all games on one chip.. My son is 7 and if all the games were seperate then he would lose them when changing them. (This has happened with other consoles) Also buying the games on one chip has saved my hundreds of pounds as it contains many of the games he requested, and more. So fantastic value for money. My son hasn't put it down!! Michelle
The colours and graphics are a lot brighter than the ds,and it is not as big to hold in your hand.My son and I wanted to play different games at different times so I bought a DS lite for him.
in very good condition, very good price compaired to other uk sellers! looks really good in black and white, the wife if very happy with it! top ebayer!
it was broken when recieved and cost me more money to send it back. also e bay stole money from me and i would stop anyone else from ever using their service
I like that it has a range of games I didnt even know about! There is a lot of choice and buying them on ebay means they are affordable too.
I love the touch screen and am very protective of it when others try an get near it thats a big NO :-D I also love that pausing the game is as easy as closing it.
I dont like that i found it complicated to get it linked up to others.
I bought it because it was recommended to me by my bf, then having played his for a few weeks I finally saved up the money to get one.
I brought this DS as a faulty item so that I could repair the unit I had. It was better than was described on the site, I have now repaired my console, and also have more spare parts in case anything else goes wrong with mine. I am lucky that I have a son-in-law that can do repairs, as this is the cheaper way to get a console, rather than buying a new one. I looked at both options when considering whether to repair or purchase new. I would recommend the repair option if you have someone electrical who can do it for you. You do need to look carefully at the write ups on items that are written as faulty, to ensure that the part you require is not on that doesnt work.
this is the 2nd ds lite i've bought they are highly addictive to play they also work by blue tooth so you can play multi-player games so although kids are to old to want to play board games with me any more this is a fab way of still interacting with them (maybe not the best or most conventional way but it works for us) generally an all round good fun console any age can play
We bought this for our Grandaughters Birthday. There are times when she has to take it off her mum or brother to be able to play.It now means that we will have to buy her brother a DS as well but we will make this a Christmas Present. So all in all top marks to nintendo for bringing out this type of game play.It keeps her occupied for quite some time.
The Nintendo DS is easy to use and very addictive! The graphics in this game are better than expected. This model is the black one and looks stylish and grown up! It takes some getting used to after having had a gameboy but once you have spent some time on it, it gets easier. It is a bonus that the old gameboy advance games can be played on it too. Infact I can't find anything that I don't like about it!
