The good: The Nintendo DS employs innovative dual-screen and microphone-enabled gameplay without load times on a higher-resolution display than Game Boy Advance SP while remaining backward compatible with older GBA games. The inclusion of Wi-Fi multiplayer capabilities and a touch screen allows for a growing list of original and fun games that you can't play on any other system.

The bad: Third-party support for the system hasn't matched the originality and ingenuity of Nintendo's games, and multimedia potential remains exclusive to Japan. The system is quite bulky. The much more stylish and comfortable DS Lite is available for the same price.

The bottom line: While it lacks the multimedia and graphical finesse of the Sony PSP, the feature-packed Nintendo DS is a worthy successor to the Game Boy Advance--but the new and improved DS Lite is available for the same price.

Nintendo DS console + dog game

Bought this for my 12 year old daughter for Christmas. She absolutely loves it and was really chuffed to receive it - obviously she didn't know I got a bargain :-) Our friend bought their son the Lite version which is more expensive and doesn't seem to be a lot different. The dogs game is a big hit but may be more of a girl thing. She has trained and walked it and can buy toys for it. Beware, when you first get your dog you have to keep calling its name at the console for what seems like hours!!

  Nintendo DS Case replacement

Many will find replacement DS Cases on ebay, they come in many colours and can either be used to have a different colour console, or as a repair for a broken console.

BUT... try to find online guides as to how to change the cases, as serious damage can occur if you do not know what your doing, a good source for this is You Tube, many videos showing how to change the cases.

Make sure also you have the right tools, available here on EBAY, a TRI-wing screwdriver, and a small and I mean small Phillips or crosshead.

If you are one of the unlucky ones, LIKE me, you may find after taking it apart, and then putting it all back into the new case, that when you power up, bottom screen flashes, and nothing... DONT panic.. I did.. tried looking for help on the web and couldnt find any. It just means you, like me havent pushed one of the Ribbon cables fully in... took me a while to work it out, just unclip the ribbon cable again, and with both fingers gently push it all the way in, you will feel it slide into the socket more than it did before.

You will be pleased at the final product, makes an old DS console new again.

I found taking them apart on a BED helps, as you cannot lose any of the small parts, and the screens also do not get scratched or damaged. Also found using the "old original" buttons are better as they are definately of better quality than those that come with a replacement DS console case.

Hope this helps others who have changed case and find console wont power up.

You can always drop me a message via ebay if your stuck and I will try to help.

I got an absoutle bargain!!
i brought a Nintendo DS for £70 and i think it was around £8 p&p
included with the Nintendo DS was 3 games. i did have a few teething problems as the seller had problems with their paypal account. BUT he kept me informed the whole time and gave me the reassurance i needed that i would get the goods i had paid for and i did, so overal i got a good gift my for my son for christmas and saved around 80 quid all because i brought off ebay!!
i buy and sell on ebay all the time, for buying its great theres no hassle of shop cuing i click and i buy and it couldnt be easier, most of the Items i buy arent second hand they are brand new, a lot of people think buying from ebay is just used items but they couldnt be more wrong, i have brought brand new clothes, ive brought candles, MP3 players, i even brough my son his motor bike from ebay and that was a total bargin. i have sold lots of things from clothes to kids watches, its a lot of fun and 99% of the people on ebay are a pleasure to do business with.
When i first started out on ebay, i brought some goods i never got, it was down hearting but after speaking to an ebay member who had something like 2000 feedback assured me not to give up because not everyone is like that. i didnt get my money back i lost out. BUT im glad i stuck with it because i dont know what i would do without ebay i just Looooooove it!!!!

  The FANTASTIC Nintendo DS Console
Review created: 05/01/07(updated 05/01/07)

A Truly REMARKABLE Handheld Console!
I bought my daughter's DS off eBay for Christmas and what a FANTASTIC buy it was. A BOXED Silver DS console with a bundle of BOXED DS & Game Boy Advance Games all for £85.00!!
We are now fighting over whos turn it is next!
The DS is the Best console I have played on. We have a PSP that many would argue is so much better (it is more advanced with many Extra Features, but would I use all the extras on PSP????). Sorry I am sticking with the DS.
There are so many Game Play Option and surprisingly very easy to use.
The Graphics are Great too.
There are thousands of Games to buy & choose from (advance & or DS) many at low prices. - OK, so there are alot of copied games in circulation now but this is happening to all Video Consoles not just the DS. (just beware who & where you buy from & remember reading feedback is MOST important).
I would recommend buying a Screen Protector for this Console, as with much use of the Stylus Pen this may cause surface scratching. These are very Cheap to buy on eBay and well worth it to protect your beloved DS.
A Realistic 11/10 & 100% Recommended Games Console.
Go on Treat yourself whatever your age, the Nintendo DS is TOP!!!!
