Nikon Coolpix L100 Digital Camera

good camera. I had bought a nikon coolpix L100 Digital camera. Pictures are instant and quiality is brill, am hoping on upgrading for a digi camera where can change the lense but will be sticking with this make (Nikon)as find them easy to use, easy to read instructions and love the way you can adjust your picturs with the zoom after pic is taken and prior.

I've just bought the Nikon Coolpix L100 digital camera.It's actually as nice a camera in the flesh as it looks in the pics lol!It has a nice weight to it and its really comfy to use.It has a lot of features that my old digital camera didnt:-e.g;it can sense when your subject smiles and takes the photo!Brilliant!In a group picture,it can focus on up to 12 faces-useful!It seems to be very easy to use-pretty much self explanatory.It does it all for you on automatic mode.I'm looking forward to using and getting to know it more over time but to be honest,the pictures are really sharp,crystal clear and the colours are great!It's also quite well priced for a camera of its calibre.What's not to like about it???I haven't found anything yet,but I'll be sure to update this review if I do!

The Nikon CoolPix L100 is a 10 MP SLR style compact bridge camera with automatic point and shoot functionality with a big wide-angle 15x zoom lens. It is a quality camera, sensibly designed, small and light enough to be readily portable, and takes very good snapshot pictures in almost all situations. The Nikon CoolPix L100 has a 3 inch LCD screen which performs okay under moderate sunlight and seriously lacks the usual viewfinder turret sported by most cameras in its class. The camera uses four AA batteries for power and lasts for roughly up to 200 shots. Overall the Nikon CoolPix L100 is a fantastic little camera for the average user.

A quality product from a quality brand. Many years of faultless service from a Nikormat in the good old days of film may have influenced my purchase decison but first impressions are excellent. Build quality; ease of use and the range of facilities are all better than anticipated.

On the good side, the picture review and edit facilities on the L100 are excellent. Intuitive and effective controls allow you to identify parts of pictures you've taken to create better framed or simply closer views of your subjects. Much more useful than expected.

Some experimentation with closeup work of mother nature was excellent. Auto focus even coped with a spiders web! On the down side, if a subject is all green in colour, then the focus system can't 'see' the subject and simply won't focus. Had to introduce a pen in the frame to get focus lock, before moving pen out of view to take the picture. One of the failings of an infra-red based focus system I guess.

One slight regret I have in choosing this model is the lack of an optical viewfinder. Being increasingly longsighted (it's my age you know) even the massive and bright screen can't overcome my limits of focus so I can't be sure pictures are in focus and have found shots unusable simply because I couldn't see what I was doing. I realise now that an optical finder would have addressed this shortcoming but I can live with this oversight on my part.

Early impressions are very positive so it just remains to see if the next 25 years are as good as the old Nikormat!!!

Was surprised at competitive price of Nikon as had always wanted one and thought it would be out of my price range. Was looking for a bridge camera, easy to use and this had lots of different shooting modes. Has quite a reasonable zoom at 15x optical, nice clear screen, not used all its functions yet but so far so good. No downsides. Seems to be very good for the price. Very clear pictures and good macro.
