Nikon COOLPIX 5700 Digital Camera

I bought this camera second hand through e-bay recently, And managed to get it at a very decent price. All things considered, age/megapixle/etc. This camera performs very well.

I am by no means a proffesional when it comes to talking about camera's.
But the one thing i noticed straight away about this camera upon opening the box is it's build qaulity.I beleive it has a magnesium body. Which is light and easy to handle. Although some of the buttons on the left of the camera are in an awkward place and i kept pushing them by accident at first.

After a few hours though this is no biggie.The LCD screen isnt the biggest but it has the addition that it swivels, Meaning if your using it to line a photo up at a difficult angle it comes in very handy, Rather than tilting your head you can tilt the screen. It's a little small though.

The Exposure/metering/Image controls are all very good. You can see why this camera won a few awards when it was new. It offers the user a large amount of control over there subject and even though ive just started to get the hang of them ive been very happy with the results so far.......

It prints at a max resolution of 16x20 inches, I havent printed anything out yet at this size. But what i have printed via a photo printer has been very impressive indeed. The one major gripe i have is the battery life, I managed to aquire a spare battery with the camera so it isnt a huge problem. And i beleive you can buy an upgrade for the camera to maximise battery life.Still a bit pricey though as it cost half of what the camera cost me.

As an everyday camera i can carry about with me this is excellent and im glad i bought it, As said before i am no proffesional but my photographs are improving the more i get the hang of the controls on the 5700.

Considering it's age and the new batch of megapixel camera's available. This camera can be had for an absolute steal of a price..And in the right handsd (unfortunatly not mine...well at the moment anyway)Im sure you could acheive some amazing shots with this camera.

It also has the option for the lense convertor. (not supplied). I have yet to purchase this option myself, But i will definatly be doing so after ive got the hang of everything else it has to offer.

This camera has brought me hours of joy so far and ive only maybe used it for around 30hours or so, Id recommend the 5700 and give it an 8/10.
