Nikon COOLPIX 3100 Digital Camera

Very good camera to carry around all the time. The lenses are obviously very good as pictures can be blown up a lot before pixilation. Use NiMh batteries only - others run out far too fast. Is capable too of doing conventional photography away from the auto settings. The battery door needs handling with care as its easily broken. Best to use only optical zoom, digital zoom can degrade pictures. And lastly this is a 3 megapixel camera, for most things, ie viewing on a PC, sending emails etc. middle resolution is fine. As the megapixel rating of cameras continuously increase I am not sure it is really of that importance, other than image factor ... it uses up more card and hard drive space with little real advantage unless you need very large prints. Buy one of these Coolpixes and you will be very satisfied.
