Nikon COOLPIX 2100 Digital Camera

I bought this for taking product shots for my website after reading a number of reviews. I am very pleased with the images it produces. As i only needed it for web resolution the number of pixels was not really an issue. The quality and sharpness in macro mode are great. Just what i was looking for. I cannot comment on print quality as i have not printed any images off yet. Would definately recomend using it for close up images.

I bought this coolpix 2100 camera because my own Coolpix camera had broken and i still had the original disc, leads, charger and instruction guide etc....... I love this little camera its so easy to use, being a novice photographer myself i did not want to buy anything too difficult for my use.

This camera was originally on sale in about 2002/3 for almost £200.

Picture quality is very good indeed. Don't be misled by the lowish number of pixels: the quality optics means that this camera takes better pictures than many of today's cheaper cameras, in spite of their "loads of megapixels" boasting.

Battery life is very good, but ONLY with genuine Nikon rechargables. Forget alkalines and cheapo NiMH batteries, they'll be useless after a dozen or so shots! The real thing is available on eBay and Amazon.

The main failing is the frail latch on the battery compartment. Be gentle with it. A bit of Sellotape will work, but it doesn't look pretty.

Bought this camera for our 10yr old because it is very easy to use and we did not want to buy a new one, just im case it was broken. This camera offered value for money, althougb there are better cameras now on the market, they are more expensive. The camera overall takes a good picture and transfer to a PC is very easy.

Replaced one we had before which we were very happy with. Everything works fine and camera in excellent condition

I bought this for my 5 year old sone for christmas so he will stop asking to use our more expenssive digital camera. It came with everything even extra memory card. I have not tried it yet but our othercamera is nikon and i am hoping to trick him into thinking that it is ours as if i bought him a kids camera he would not have been interested in it.

I recently purchased a Nikon Coolpix 2100 camera on e-bay having decided I'd like one when a friend demonstrated to me how good they are. They are now obsolete but are a super litte camera. I was delighted and proud to be the successful bidder and thought that, if the goods arrived in good condition and as they were described, I'd have got a bargain. It was only the second item I'd ever bid for on e-bay - a totally new experience for me - and I must confess I was very hesitant. When the goods arrived I was over the moon to find that they were exactly as described - excellently packaged, with all the extras as promised and in great working order. Thankyou to the seller and thank you e-bay. I won't hesitate to bid for goods on e-bay again.

I found this to be a good digital camera, it takes good pictures and all the photo modes make photographing a lot easier, the zoom is really good and allows you to get close to your subject. overall very good purchase, I bought this camera because it suited my needs and from the sellers discription it was what I was looking for.

A brilliant little camera ,it has everything on it that a more costly dslr has, you can vidio and adjust pictures on it , Fantastic

This is the second Coolpix 2100 I've owned, the first was stolen. I suppose I’ve been using a 2100 for about five years now.

The Coolpix 2100 is a great first digital camera, also a great camera for kids. I guess the ebay price at the time of writing (Apr 2009) should be around £10. For this you get a 2 Mp camera that is small, easy to use and produces great pictures. If you don't believe me type Coolpix 2100 into the search box in Flickr.

2 Mp isn't a lot. Most mobile phones will have more than this, what they won't have is a decent lens.

Compared to a modern digital camera the Coolpix 2100 has a number of drawbacks. The first is that it is battery hungry - you need rechargeables not alkaline AAs and the lifetime is relatively short. The second is that it takes quite a time to write the image to the memory card. The third is that the screen seems tiny compared to a modern camera.

Having said all of that, I give this camera 5 out of 5 because it's small, easy to use, produces great results and hey if you lose it or it gets stolen, you can replace it on ebay for £10 to £15 plus p&p

I was looking for a kids digital camera for my dauther and could not find a decent camera with at least 2mgx. All kids cameras are very cheap (from China) apart from being very expensive so I declided to purchase a second hand Nikon at very good price of Stg 5.00.
