  good lens

This is standard lens; relatively small and pretty good quality. It is not all that robust so needs to be treated with care, but gives excellent definition even to the edges.

  A must-have
Review created: 23/06/08

I orginally had this lens as it came with the camera in a kit.

I knew nothing about photography, or how to use a DSLR, and here was one sitting in front of me, that I'd spent a fair amount of money on... Looking at it, it was a very daunting prospect of having to use this snazzy bit of technology. I looked as though there were so so many different settings I had to use...

But with this lens on automatic, I have been shooting photographs for 2 years now, with no problems!

I have several lenses, but always come down to using this one on a day to day basis, as it simply works itself.

It is perfect for shooting with the kids, as I can zoom in and out easily (the different range is very good!) allowing me to take perfect photographs of my three wild toddlers.

Its for this reason, that when I dropped my camera down the stairs with this lens on, and something snapped from it, I had to hop straight online and order a new one instantly.

This is my day to day lens, for just about anything!

Ok for Holiday Pics and beginners

This Lens is very average and ok for the beginner. I have found that it is very delicate and the auto-mechanism breaks very easily. not a lens i will be buying again.

  Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX Lens
Review created: 11/03/08
by:

I've never really had a poor Nikon lens, so that speaks for itself. I bought the lens as I needed a wider angle as I only had a Nikon G 70-300mm. I haven't used the lens very much yet but what use I've had I'm very satisfied. I did initially feel the Nikon G lens gave better results but it is a little early to really say, overall I'm certainly not disappointed.

Christmas present. Works well. Good condition. Already successfully used with good results. Already had given present of Nikon D50 to my son but needed to keep lenses for myself. Therefore looked for secondhand option.
