The Nightmare Before Christmas (DVD 2003)

This is a film about Jack Skellington who is sick and tired of doing the same routine of 'Halloween' for everyone who lives in Halloween town after many events jack goes for a walk to find a mysterious patch of trees which have oddly shaped doors intreeged by the door with a christmas tree on it he opens it and is transported to a magical land of colour and delights, hes fasinated with it all and wants to make christmas his own but it has consequences!. This is a musical film and is quite old, i still have the film on video from when it came out! Its a really warm hearted film though not for young kids as some of the monsters could scare them, but its still brilliant.

The reason for this purchase was as a late christmas present to a friend who was a fan of the film but lost his copy last year. Apart from being an excellent film it was good for the seller to specify the special features and the edition of the dvd. I bought an exclusively new product on purpose to ensure that the dvd would be working and in mint condition, but when it arrived i could hear the dvd jiggling around inside the box. not a fault of the seller im sure, things like this happen with dvd boxes. But my wishes were fulfilled; the film works, my friend was happy and I am satisfied buyer (saving almost 14 pounds on RRP). The postage as usual between sellers was good, bubblewrapped envelope, a bit excessive maybe but satisfying to know there is a standard and that the sellers think of these things.
As one of my first e-bay purchases I was ecstatic and happy by the result, as awaiting a package can be an anxious occasion. In total I think that e-bay is amazing and would like to thank all those who have designed and those who are making this service better.

Great film. Din't think I would like it as not into musicals but my son watched it and now watches it every day !!! Think it's a film you would either love or hate but I think it's a must see and you should give it a chance.

I brought this as a birthday present for my best friend as this is her favourite film. As its old i thought it would be hard to find this flim in great condiction and cheap due to its favouritism amoungst adults and children. The dvd does not contain any extras on it but the film itself is good eough to watch. The dvd enhances sound and picture quailty. In this film i love the contrast between the two worlds and how such as shy man eventually learns to stand up and fight for love/loyalty, even though two women had been choosen for him. Its language used is suitible for all the family which means everyone can sit down together and watch it, however i feel the songs do go on abit but with in them they tell alot more of the story and you get to see hwats going on backstage that isnt included e.g. what happened to the bride. This is a different way of showing the past but is interesting and suits the film better as it is a comedy cartoon. I preferr this film to other tim burtons as its more for all age ranges and draws me in more (has a better story line). I feel tim burtons films are the type you watch maybe three or four times and then get bored. But despite this i would recommend this film as it has great entertainment for everyone.

I decided to purchase this dvd as once a week we have a family night with a meal and film. Although my son and I had seen this film my daughter had not. She had recently seen The Corpse Bird also by Tim Burton and asked to see this film.

The sellers description and picture was completely accurate. The purchase was smooth and efficient with no problems or delays. The whole family were pleased and enjoyed a good evening of food and fun.

Any films where all the family (our ages vary) can sit and enjoy them is a definite plus in our house.

Tim Burton's quirky, animated musical which mingles Halloween and Xmas. It answers the age old question of what a mummy, or vampire, ghool or ghost would like for the Christmas. There are lots of references to other Christmas classics like Rudolph, The Grinch, and even Santa and the Martians. Danny Elfman's soundtrack is both touching and a bit errie as it is all in minor keys and lots of musical styles (including a tribute to Cab Calloway). There is something in it for the entire family (teenagers included).

after searching for this film for ages, i was so pleased to find it on e-bay. i was even more pleased to find thr film was top quality disc, good storyline and excellent communication with seller.

I Love anything to do with christmas! The Nightmare Before Christmas has always been one of my favourite christmas films. If you like Tim Burton's other stuff (Edward Scissorhands, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride etc) you will love this. A little gothic and on the dark side but not scary, children would enjoy the film. Its about Jack, a skeleton who lives in a Halloween town, he is the one in charge of the huge halloween parade every year as he can come up with the scariest of ideas! Though he gets fed up of the same old thing and wanders into the night where he stumbles on the different holiday worlds hidden inside of trees! easter, thanksgiving etc, but the one that appeals to him most is the tree with the door that has a huge brightly coloured christmas tree on the front, nothing like hes ever seen before in his dark world. So he goes to investigate and loves the snow, the little elves playing, laughter, and the big fat red guy! He decides to go home and tell all the other halloween creatures about it but they seem uninterested, only interested in if these people were scary and gruesome. Jack feels missunderstood and alone, until he meet a rag doll, Sally, who was created by a scientist who keeps her locked away, though she keeps escaping, he find her and repeatedly keeps taing her back home. Her and Jack become close and together it is their mission to convince the creatures of the Halloween world, that scaring people isnt the only important thing...that giving presents, laughing and being jolly is a very fun thing to do also...but can they do it??

Tim Burton does it again in this dark extraordinary world filled with magic and wonder. Jack Skellington is the Pumkin King of Halloween Town, who decides to bring Christmas cheer to the world. With good intentions he doesn't realise that he has put Father Christmas in trouble and he ends up creating a nightmare for little girls and boys everywhere! The question is WHO IS GOING TO SAVE CHRISTMAS!!! This is a fabulous Christmas family film, a definate must have!!

There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this film. Tim Burton makes another genius film and Danny Elfman writes the most gorgeous and genius music. A great film for the whole family - children and adults alike!!

i loved this movie befor i watched it.
a store in a florida there is a disney christmas store and they have 'The Nightmaire Before Christmas' decorations and i fell in love with it then, this was 4 years ago. i have only just seen it 4 years later and would recomend it to anyone. amazing film.

Fantastic film, albeit slightly macabre, just what Tim Burton does best. Great songs and great entertainment for the whole family.

its such a great film, i used to watch it al the time when i was a kid. very great every one should see it once. i loved it so much so glad someone was selling it.

Tim Burton hits the jackpot with this brilliant alternative to the usual mushy fgf Christmassy sludge we are offered. Brilliantly written. Brilliantly animated and TOTALLY different. Ghoulish enough to attract even the menfolk and 'toughnuts' into watching, and a delight for everyone else. But light enough to entertain Granny or the little ones. Comical, scary, emotional - it's got the lot! Great fun!!

Quite dark for disney but a great movie for all ages and becoming abit of a cult classic. If sleeping beauty is your thing then this might not appeal to you.

I bought this DVD because it is a favourite of my son. He had it on Video and it has been misplaced, i know he always likes to watch it before xmas, so i wanted to surprise him with it.

i love the dvd its a brill film and a good copy to watch with the family. i brought the dvd because i watched it as a child and i wanted my mates and there children to watch it. there was nothing i disliked about this dvd

This is the film of choice for our family on Christmas Day - funny, creepy, sweet and snarky, fantastic and original animation, as well as music! What more could you ask for? I wouldn't show it to small children, but everyone else will have a ball...Merry Christmas!
