Nickelback - Silver Side Up (CD 2001)

I love this album, it's got such a great vibe surrounding all the tracks. I do think there are some tracks that are better than others on this album such as "How you remind me" and "Too bad" but the rest is definately worth a listen. A stand out album in an average era of rock.

Just what you want from a post-grunge rock band: angsty, angry and catchy lyrics all nicely packaged for us middle -classes

Amazing...stunning...wonderfully written, powerful lyrics. The previous few posters must not know much about Nickelback, I can tell you as a true fan. They've been around for 8 years, and will be for many more. Don't just buy this album, buy them all! Hesher, The State, The Long Road, Curb and All The Right Reasons!

Before writing this review i have already listened to 'The Long Road' and 'All the Right Reasons'. So i feel that i should use these as a comparison.

'Silver Side Up' does not boast an album full of hit singles as does ATRR. However, it does offer something different.

ATRR is an album crammed with hits, TLR is more of a 'Rock' album and SSU is generally 'Metal'.

Dont get me wrong, it has some slower tracks, ballads on there. But most songs are heavy. Nickelback seem to have lost this aspect in the later albums, slowly becoming a 'softer' rock band.

It is entirely what you want to listen to and what mood you are in.

It's not a patch on their recent material, but good listening. I thought it would be good to hear some old material since i like their new stuff. I would recommend this to all those who like Nickelback's new tracks though.

I like this album because it demonstrates what nickelback are all about, hard rocking but also being able to show the slower more anthematic side the band/song writer in Chad Kroeger, this is evident in the song Too Bad. A great album, a must for any Nickelback fan or hard rock fan.

This breakthrough album is a must have for all Nickelback fans. This album dates from 2001 but has many signature tunes, such as 'How you remind me' and 'Too bad' which have grown into modern day ballads in there own right.

This lay the platform for this band to become what they are today, in 2009 one of the top bands around

The 2 main hit singles 'this is how you remind me' and 'too bad' are definatly the albums masterpieces but all the other tracks should not be shoved aside! full of amazing metal guitar licks, i definatly reccomend buyinh this album and you can travel back to thier more sinister work! go on you know you want to =p

love nickelback and this cd certainly wasnt a let down. i especially loved many of their other albums and songs but how you remind me is one of my favourites. it may have been 2001 and a you would think a little outdated but it really isnt.

I love nickelback and i didnt have this CD so i bought it and it was just as good as i was xspecting which was excellent.

Love the band!and i lost my album i had before so i decided to look around for another one and saw it on ebay.

It was bought with other items as a Christmas present. It was new, and a good price. I find most folk on ebay are genuine, but always check their feedback. My item was posted very quickly, with fair postage. I have so far had very little problem dealing on ebay. I hope this has been of some help to others out there thinking of trading.

Began to get interested in the music of nickelback about 2 years ago. Have all the newer Cd's in my collection but wanted to try some of the older stuff.
Would recommend this CD to any rock fan as i would any of the Nickelback CD's
They are just as good live too!!!. A real talent for singing / songwriting unlike many bands these days.

Released by Roadrunner records in 2001 on September 11th, this CD is the third studio Album from this band.

From Canada, this band, are actually very good, and are on my stadium list of bands I would like to see, most recently you will probably heard Rockstar, and Look at this Photograph - must check if that is the actual track name, so its easy to forget their earlier stuff.

How you Remind Me, was huge back when it was released, which reached number 1 just about everywhere, the other tracks which were chart hits were Never Again and Too Bad, but How you Remind me, was on par with Rockstar for its annoying catchy riffs and chorus, you can't help but sing along.

I bought this Cd as a present for a friend, who had heard mine, and liked it as much as I do! I heard a Nickleback track ages ago, and bought this CD and loved all the songs as much as the original one I had heard on the radio

Excellent album, this band has had consistant hits over the past years, you know what you get before you get it.

Great CD, lots of good quality tracks, smashing. I have two others of theirs and they are alos excelent. All tracks are as i'd expect from Nickelback, brilliant.

I Love Nickelback. But as always with all of their albums it sounds really Aritficial. As in there is no raw guitar or drums. It sounds like it has all been done on a computer.
Apart from that its great!
