Being a fan of New Tricks I couldn't believe that I had missed the Pilot.
I sat and watched repeat after repeat hoping that I would get the chance to see how they all came together. In the end I had to buy it, and it was well worth the wait. I still watch the repeats, but the Pilot was excellent

Really, I thought it be a waste of time but my fiancee likes it so I got it for her. It ended up that I sat and watched it with her, enjoyed it.
Its actually pretty good detective program, which has its boring bits but some really good bits too. Overall I'd say definately something to at least see an episode of and then decide for yourself.

I have only watched the pilot episode (not seen before) and it was excellent. I must admit I am a New Tricks fan but I think that it is well written when they can get 4 "stars" to work together as they do.

I loved this DVD. and have now gone on to buy more of the series because I enjoy it so much.
This program has the perfect cast that really seem to fit well together, and you learn more about each of the main characters life outside of the job as the episodes progress, making you warm to them even more.
It manages to give laugh out loud comedy while not losing the plot of the real story (which is a whodunnit).
highly reccomended.

New tricks is one of the finest shows ever made. The cast is simply superb and the story lines serious with some lighthearted humour thrown in. Alun Armstrong is particularly outstanding as he struggles with mental illness whilst solving crimes. Can't get enough of this show!

It is a great program easy to watch time and time again. Great for all the family. has some very funny sceans but can also take on serious roles as well a great all rounder.

The 'New Tricks' series are some of the best light entertainment on television. All of the actors are very professional and they obviously enjoyed making the episodes. I bought the DVD because it is an entertaining alternative to many programs on current television. I have also purchased series 2 and 3.

this shows right from the start. the pilot shows the recruitment of all the old boys and how di pullman was placed in charge. after that personalities clash and mayhem follows.

I enjoy the series. By purchasing series one, I have a foundation for the current series. I find the concept interesting and the characters good, so I have enjoyed the DVD. It is the problem of the writers that the leave the final episode unanswered atleast through series two which is disappointing due to the continued story lines with the characters. Will purchase later series at another time.
