Great value for money satnav/pda unit, beware of over priced units on ebay as they can be bought for as little as £99 new from Halfords. Buy one and you will not be dissapointed.

I first bought my Navman PIN 570 about 2 years ago, I have had a software update from the Navman website, this now allows the unit to display the house numbers as you pass, this works both in the navigation or location mode. As a taxi driver I find this invaluable, as you would not believe the number of houses which do not have the number displayed. Also in the dark , it can be difficult to see the numbers. The unit is as accurate as up to 60ft, so if you are not outside that house, you are at least next door.
The down side is, that the connector for charging is succeptable to breaking off, henced the reason that I am selling my original for spares or repair. But my belief in this product is that good, that I have purchased another, but I will be more careful with the connector this time.
I don't know why Navman discontinued this product, as they offer no other sat nav P.D.A. combination unit.
I have a 1 gig memory card in mine, this alllowed me load the Tom Tom programme, but I much prefer the SnmartST navigation, it looks far better and is not as animated or cartoon like as the Tom Tom.
Hope this is useful for you. By the way, Halfors list these on their website fo 59.99 but are not available, so anything up to £110 for new, in my view is well worth it.

Having spent weeks and weeks reviewing all the Sat-Nav systems looking for a Christmas present for my son, and, knowing how happy he was with his, the only one which met all the criteria was the Navman - due to us wanting one that was a PDA and not just a Sat-Nav. Price-wise there was no real choice since the Navman is excellent value for both a PDA and Sat-Nav, since most basic Sat-Nav systems are more expensive !
It comes ready loaded with 'Windows Mobile' as well as with 'Smart-ST' discs - which is their own mapping system, which, when loaded, runs automatically when the unit is powered-up. Where this unit scores higher than others, is the screen size, definition, and the fact that you can run other software on it - such as the latest 'TomTom' - you just pop in the memory card and select 'TomTom' from the on screen menu and you're off !
Its slim, average weight for a Sat-Nav, and easily 'pocket-size' as its no bigger than a scientific calculator.
Really, we can't fault it at all, it does what it says on the box, and does it all very well thankyou, and, most importantly, its excellent value for the money considering all that you get compared to similarly priced basic Sat-Nav units.

I bought one from Halfords at xmas .Fantastic PDA and worth the money .Much ,much better than a designated satnav. I downloaded as much software as I could for this . You can play your holiday videos [as Divx avi's] , there a great mp3 player ,there is a Wi-Fi SD card available so you can access your e-mails and get the internet , you can put TT6 on it too [I have together with the UK & Western Europe map , working great], theres some good games too .Remember though as with most PDA's & satnav's the batteries only last about 3 hours , so ,charge it up on a regular basis as if it totally flatens you will lose all the software on it and have to re-install .No big deal though .

I wanted to buy this product purely for its satnav ability, which after using it for a few days has proved to be very accurate and easy to follow. However, the other functions of the PinN - the calender, tasks, Word, MSN, Internet etc, are also very handy. For all these functions I was pleased with its competitive price and would recomend it to anyone who wants a cheap satnav, with added extras (if you need them!).

after buying this i was so excited and could not wait to use it but i found it was a bit slow getting connected to the satalites but i was soon up and running the software was tomtom which is really good with speed camera detection which is spot on then i purchased navman sat nav software which is designed for the pin 570 and this is about as good as you can get it is really really good so if you are looking for a navman pin570 i would make sure it has the original software on it and you will not be disappointed at all overall this is a good bit of equipment so good luck

Overall this is a good peice of kit, one of the two bad points is that the latest map update is 2004. I have contacted Navman and they have discontinued this model. The other bad point which has now been rectified is a very poor GPS receiver, I have driven over an hour and not got a gps fix. I have recently bought a gps aerial which is installed to my car, I simply plug it into the pda and usually within 30 seconds its locked on. If you want a full windows suite complete with ms word, excel media player then this is great, however if you simply want a Sat Nav system then I would maybe choose a more basic model from Navman. As a whole the actual Sat Nav part of the pda is excellent, you can choose loads of favourites right down the the house number on a street, points of interest can be located anywhere in the UK very easily. I would rate this product 8 out of 10.

one tip - buy a bigger sd card (2gb for £15 @ picstop.co.uk)
once you have the bigger card you can put TomTom v6 s/ware on and have two satnav systems in one
Up to you which one you want to use
Can also run a DivX player on it

I initially bought this so I could find the way to Reading for a photograghy session however it has become a must have out n about. I use it alot and first it was quite hard to use, got a bit frustrated with it too much going on but it's brilliant now. At first I was that bad at using it I thought it was broke when it simply needed charging!!! Anyway the only bad point is that it takes forever to obtain signal especially annoying when in a rush but overall the navman satnav is a great piece of kit as it has your own personal type PC thing.

This was my first SAT NAV. I had experience of someone elses TOMTOM ONE which for me did everything I needed but as cash is tight I decided to go small at first.
What a pleasant surprise! Works like any other with good graphics, loud and clear voice instructions, quickly recalculates if you take a wrong turn and I have had no issues with the map since (just like a TOMTOM) if it doesn't know an island exists or the road priorities are different to its memory you just glance at the screen and the map will show whether to bear left/right etc. And anyway, as stated, if you do take a wrong turn it quickly recalculates to put you back on track. Can't fault it.
The size is great, fits in a pocket or in a cubbyhole in the car, so can easily be hidden from view and it was easy to fix to the windscreen in a visible location.
Then the bonus is that it is a mini computer also with Microsoft applications so you can write notes, keep addresses and phone numbers etc and have them all with you as you travel.
If this is to be your first foray into SATNAV then don't hesitate, get one! No need to spend hundreds as for the average person this is all you need, .. and more.

This satnav is unbelievably frustrating and useless in every way shape and form!!! it takes forever to find satellite, not very accurate, doesnt have some majour roads like commercial street in london, and cannot navigate from north london o stains as it said (there are no roads connectinting them together!!)

I bought this mainly for the GPS feature. It turned out to be much more, as it turned out to be a great PDA which I use constantly.
The GPS is good (in most cases) and is easy to set up and use. I was however directed to the trades entrance of a hotel when I wanted to go to the reception. This turned out to be a diversion of a couple of miles.
The connector on the bottom is a weak area and has already broken. It still works, but I have to wiggle it to get it charging. Other than this, build quality is very high. The other small annoyance is the car holder, which slackens off by itself. This allows the unit to eventually fall off.

My personal recommendation is the Coral offer as it is quick, easy and only costs £5.

Microsoft Activsync & Memory MapGreat little pda which I bought for greenlaning.If you install Memory Map, make sure you DO NOT install the Activesync Ver 3.71 software which comes with the PIN570! It prevents Memory Map from loading on your pc. You need to download version 3.7 from the web for it to work properly.(Microsoft dont seem to have this download on their website anymore)
