DVD player with CD pretensions.

GOOD POINTS:
Great CD sound. Folks, this DVD player sounds like a first-rate CD player. I wasn't expecting much, but this really blew me away; I've begun to enjoy CDs I'd just about given up on. If you're looking for a great sounding DVD player this is it.
Really useful DVD features like Auto Play, which skips all the copy protection warnings etc and goes straight to the movie, and a genuinely usable zoom feature, perfect for those with smaller TVs for whom widescreen movies are just an unwatchable slit across the middle of the screen.
BAD POINTS:
Really slow loading. Would you believe 23 seconds from inserting a disc to hearing music? I'm sure NAD can improve on this. It maybe doesn't matter so much on DVD, but when you're changing CDs frequently it's a pain in the rear. I'm prepared to suffer it though for the sound.
Unit turns itself off after 20 seconds and has to be reawakened again. This is another pain; I really don't see why DVD players have to be set to turn themselves off; surely phosphur burn isn't a problem anymore. It's like trying to keep a dozy old relative awake all the time.
All in all though a great unit and definitely worth the extra over the $30 Chinese units.
