Good cd player, excellent stereo image, very good value, build quality has a solid feel to it, understated looks are good if you like understated looks. Occasionally jumps on CD-Rs but that can be cured by burning the CD at 8x instead of 48x. Musical without being clinical. Extended, clear and controlled bass. I suspect the CD player would still sound great through much better amp & speakers than what I've got.
