N.C.I.S. - Naval Criminal Investigative Service - Series 1 - Complete (DVD)

I liked the series when it first played on sky, i had been looking to buy, but this was expensive in the shops, so i decided to use ebay and i saved at least 40% on the store prices.

right, this is my first review on anything on e-bay. not sure what to put but will give it a bash. ncis- season 1, i bought this because i,am a big fan of csi, orig, n.y. and maimi. i saw an episode of this once by chance on tv. throughly enjoyed it, a bit like, if you know it JAG. so watched some more and really got into it. it follows agent gibbs and his team dealing with military crimes, from murder and terrorism to kidnapping etc.
gibbs dosnt mind bending the rules at times if it gets the job done.
it also stars david mccallum(illya kuriakin, hope thats spelt right, from the man from u.n.c.l.e.) as one of his team.
this dvd boxset has all 23 episodes on it and a running time of approx 16 hours, most box sets come in 2 parts 12 episodes in one box set 12 in the other costing twice as much, this is all in one 23 episodes on 6 discs in one box. hey got to be good value.
so in a nut shell love csi you will love this, i hope all this makes sense but as said ,it is my first review i will try and do better

This has got to be one of the best series to come over the pond in years.

If I have to choose one reason only it has to be Abby. At last a seriously clever 'cop' who does not dress like a Wall Street banker.

The downside? DiNozzo. He makes me want to throw something every time I see him, how someone with his attitudes and his way of treating others (McGee, Kate) has remained in his job is beyond me and, personally I find him the only negative thing about the programme, everything and everyone else rates 5 stars; he rates minus 5 stars.

Excellent Program cannot wait to watch the next series, full of humour and action, cannot think of any negatives

This has got to be listed as one of the better "Copy-cat" or "Spin-off" series made.
I found this one day while channel surfing on the TV and decided to watch the program and I was hooked. Think along the lines of CSI with a dose of slapstick thrown into catch you off guard.

The cast really get into their characters and really work well together, the story lines are vastly varied and up to date.

Having discovered NCIS late, (I only watched an episode one night becasue there was nothing else on) I became hooked straight away. I found out purely by chance that there were other previous series and promptly decided to start right at the beginning. I love every single character, the plots might be a bit wispy here and there but on the whole an excellent series. Looking to buy series two now............................

fantastic series great from start to finish, you'll like it if you enjoy shows like CSI and Law and Order.

I bought this DVD as i have been watching NCIS on Sky and on channel 5, and i bought this series becausei had not seen it from the start.
I love the characters in this show espically Agent Tony DiNozzo ( Micheal Weatherley) his character is so funny and great to watch.
All the cast are great and the story lines never get boring.
I recomned to any one that is thinking of buying to buy it it is great TV.

As a complete addict on this tv series set in the US about the Naval Criminal Investigation Service, I just had to purchase this series 2 dvd which I must admit has been used over and over again and I am not yet tired of it. Even my fellow family members have got involved and when they borrow the set, I can't wait to have it back. I suppose also looking at the eye candy which is Michael Weatherly helps as well, but the programmes keep you on the edge of your seat right until the end. Hope that this helps and that anyone who enjoys a good crime programme should watch this.

Having caught an episode of this programme on TV I thought I would enjoy watching the series and indeed this was the case. It is an excellent series and the quality of the DVDs were perfect.

An excellent series and I look forward to the issue of the Second and Third series which I will also purchase. The set was delivered within a couple of days of payment and the seller communications were of the highest standard. I would certainly recommend this series and indeed the seller to ebay purchasers without any hesitation.

It was good to locate the first series which we had missed. We have only seen the first three so far which have been excellent and every bit as good as the later series.

This is a fantastic dvd especially if like me you are a true ncis fan well presented very colourfull sleeve story line varied plot kept you guessing. very informated regarding cast

I love NCIS. All the seasons are great! They keep you interesed all the way through. It's serious yet witty. If your a CSI lover, then this should definately float your boat. Excellent! xx

The DVD's were great only they didnt play on my living room DVD player, I have had to watch them on my wee one in my bed.

Not many of the american 'cop' series in recent years have come up to scratch while others have got off to a good start.
NCIS is different because despite the serious content the chapters are played out by the principle characters superbly.

Its the best series on tv in my opinion, serious, funny, exciting, it has something of everything. The carachtors are believable and they interact really well. Ive now got series 1, 2, 3, and 4, cant wait to get series 5.
Its so much better on DVD as well because you dont have the interuption of adverts.
I hope they dont stop making them.

i brought this dvd because i love the tv show. the dvd itself is excellent and i have no dislikes on this dvd.

It seems pointless telling you this series is great and that you should buy it now, as we all have different tastes and viewing preferences, so instead i'll tell you why i love it.

If you're new to NCIS: Firstly NCIS stands for Naval Criminal Investigative Service. They are a small team of people who investigate deaths, missing persons, terrorist threats, and other serious crimes involving Navy personnel or on Naval bases in the U.S. The regular team consists of investigators, forensics and medical examiners (a.k.a autopsy), along with a few other supporting "players". Each episode (around 50 mins) deals with a new case, although there have been a few two-parters. Sometimes "baddies" turn up more than once through-out a series. It's very easy to watch even if your not familiar with the Navy, they're very good at explaining Naval vocabulary, etc., so don't let that put you off. You'll enjoy it if you like CSI, Without A Trace, etc. If you do want to get into this you should start with Series 1 and follow through chronologically (trust me it'll make more sense that way).

Now, the reasons why i love it. The crimes and investigations themselves are dealt with in a serious way, but there are still some funny bits that keep the overall feel light-hearted, these usually involve the characters interacting with each other. Everybody that i know that watches this show has their own favourite character. The shows writers have allowed each character to develop their own personality and traits, making each one special, not only to each other but also us the viewers. I also like the fact that, being centered around the Navy, it makes the programme feel a little bit different from all the others. The Cast are excellent, the scripts superb, and the programme entertaining from start to finish. In my opinion each series keeps getting better, so i'm looking forward to Series 5 coming soon on TV.

the actors are great, the series is brilliant,when you have watch one you can not wait to watch more,that is the reason why i have started buying all the series,s and now i have all my family watching them as well

Loved the program on the tv thought i would get the box set so i could whatch the program over again the stories are well prosented the charaters are interesting

NCIS is gripping yet funny, I love every episode. Gibbs, Tony, Kate, Abby and Ducky are the Navy's answer to great investigating. They will not stop until the case is solved. Loving it wholely. With the introduction of Tim its the perfect team.
