This is a great film and a comical masterpiece. The humour is so well written into the decent and original plot that it constantly keeps delighting you as the film progresses. The writing is excellent and the comic timing is superb. One courtroom scene in particular, involving the public defender, is my favourite all time piece of comedy and I can't help but chuckle uncontrollably when I think of it (which can at times be rather embarrassing). The two young actors playing the New York lads facing murder charges in the Deep South both put in decent performances and have some great comic lines but the star of the movie is Joe Pesci who just turns in a stunning performance. He is in trademark territory but is endearing as opposed to annoying as he was in the Lethal Weapon films. His one on one scenes with the judge and his girlfriend contain some excellent writing and Pesci and his co-stars just deliver them beautifully. Indeed, Marisa Tomei, who won an Oscar for her performance, is sensational and looks fabulous. Her Brooklyn accent, which would normally grate from anyone else, is beautiful and I would challenge any male not to fall in love with her by the end of the movie. My cousin Vinny is not totally in your face funny although it contains its elements of slapstick. Instead the humour is observational with wonderful attention to detail. Every now and then though it crescendos to leave you with a scene that sticks in your mind forever. If you want to feel better buy this movie.

Still as fresh as everI enjoyed My Cousin Vinny the first time I saw it, and have carried on rating it very highly ever since.
It is a reworking on the common "fish out of water" scenario, with high quality actors all playing their parts with great skill and comic timing.
I had expected, on buying a copy on here, that I would watch it once more and find it perhaps had lost some of that comic edge. However, I still found myself laughing out loud as much as I had ever done. The script and acting had helped this movie remain fresh and still hilarious.
All the characters are well thought out and likeable, each one getting their own scenes to shine in.
The language tends to be strong in some scenes, but not overly so.
All in all, a very accomplished comedy, which I know I will be watching over and over again.

I'll start out by saying this is not a movie for me, but to replace my wife's old VHS copy. There are enough reviews of the film itself here, and synopses as well, so I'll just jump right to the DVD.
The film transfer is very nice, as is the audio. It's nice to see all the garish detail on Marisa Tomei's frightful outfits, as well as to hear details the old audio washed out. This disc does accommodate widescreen viewing, rather than forcing widescreen into a TV sized frame, so that's nice.
The extras are pretty thin, but probably more than anyone buying this movie will ever want: there's a director's commentary and 2 trailers.
If you like this movie (and who'd be buying it on DVD if they didn't already know they liked it?), the DVD doesn't disappoint.

This is the funniest film of all times. There are not many films that I would watch a second time, but this film is so funny that I would cry tears each time I watch it. Number one film for all family members, if you have not seen it make it a PRIORITY!!!

What a fantastic performance by Marisa Tomei playing the girlfriend of Joe Pesci she was superb of course Joe Pesci who plays Vinny was brilliant as the just qualified lawyer with absolutely no experience of a court system helping his desperate cousin off a murder charge finds himself locked up for contempt, brilliant definitely a watch again movie laughs all the way through

My Cousin Vinny
) Beautiful family comedy set in a rural setting. I found this very funny and the actors all have previous comedy backgrounds. The story is funny but it has the twist in the tail ending, rather than just fading out. I purchased this after I caught half of it on TV and decided I needed to see it all. Glad I bought it, as I have watched it over and over again.

) It is a classic movie. I rarely watch movies more than once.....but this one is something you can watch a couple of times a year and not get fed up with.
Cousin Vinny, Joe Pesci, better suited to a life parallel to Del Boy is actually a newly qualified lawyer and needs to defend is nephew and friend accused of murder.
His performance is rivetting and the script is one of the best I've heard in recent years. His dialogue with his girlfriend, who is also coming across as amazingly limited, is superb....and you are left in no doubt that despite the brooklyn accents and the way they interact, they are both as sharp and as bright as can be.
Marisa Tomei was fantastic.....she won an oscar and she deserved it. The chemistry between them was perfect and the story just lent itself to the scriptwriters.
This movie is not funny in a slap stick way, but in a spontaneous way and it is romantic and meaningful all at the same time.
Its a feel good movie with a bit more.....and yes, it does have a happy ending.

Excellent comedy film with the feel good factor, and some well known faces included. set in the south of the USA and dealing with non main stream court action. I have seen the film before and have been looking to buy it for some time to add to my collection.

This is one of the most wonderful comedies I have seen yet. It is brilliantly funny! I put it on occasionally for my partner just to see the tears of laughter on their face when the lawyer with the speech impediment goes into action.
Joe Pesci is made for the role as the attorney for the "two yoots" and Marisa Tomei is exceptional as his girlfriend. Super laugh a minute film which is endearing to watch and you don't want to miss anything.
Well worth buying.I would recommend to anyone who needs cheering up.

It was a great movie to watch. Couldnt stop laughing.I liked the way the film starts off and the parts played by all the cahracters was mind blowing.No wonder Marisa Tomei won an oscar for her role in this movie.Joe Pesci is just great in his not so lawyerly role.A must see!

) I been looking for this DVD for ages and then when I registered on ebay, I just typed the name of DVD and it came up. I was very happy. I purchased the item stright away and I will be buying many more on ebay. You don't even have to step outside to get what you want. it is so convinion.
But there is something I didn't like recently. I won an item of 5 pounds. When I start going through payment via paypall, I couldn't. It says: this person is not allowed to receive any payments. But the invoice reminder keeps coming in. The seller require to send a cheque and I want to stick with my usual method of payment. I am worried that I get negative feedback. what to do in this situation? Can you advice? Please

This film has been out for some time - it never ceases to make me laugh . I have it on VHS ,& now I have a decent DVD player it made sense to own it on DVD too. This sort of comedy is I feel timeless,& with quality actors its a film for all seasons, & I am sure I will still enjoy it in years to come.
