THIS IS THE MUPPETS VERSION OF THE CLASSIC DICKENS TALE. I BOUGHT IT AS I AM UPDATING MY VIDEO COLLECTION TO DVD AND WAS MISSING THIS TITLE.IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FIRM FAVOURITE IN OUR HOUSEHOLD. IT IS THE USUAL HIGH STANDARD YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM THE MUPPETS , FULL OF WIT AND DOUBLE MEANINGS TO DELIGHT YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE. IT IS A THOROUGHLY ENTERTAINING MOVIE AND GOOD ALL ROUND ENTERTAINMENT WHICH IS SUITABLE FOR TODDLERS THROUGH TO GRANNY AND GRANDAD.EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE FROM MICHAEL CAINE AS SCROOGE. LOVE THE RATS!WELL WORTH A WATCH.

I have loved this movie ever since I first saw it and it's gradually become a part of Christmas. (Or indeed any time of year!) This is the Muppets at their best since the loss of Jim Henson, thought Muppet Treasure Island was also very entertaining.
The picture quality and sound on the DVD is superb, plus there are some nice extras, including a gag reel, a sort of mockumentary about Gonzo The Great, and a short on Christmas Around The World (educational for the kids.) The only quip with this version is the absence of the song, "The Love Is Gone". Now I personally don't have a problem with this, as I grew up with a taped VHS from which the song was also cut, so I can live without it, but I thought I should forewarn fans of the song.
Otherwise, a great DVD and worth the money.

got it on video, its a christmas classic in our house, watched every year, so now the children have left home they wanted their own copies, so this is a pressie for my daughter, remind her of christmas at home.

I decided to buy muppet christmas carol as on xmas day i watched the old one and my husband advised that muppet one is much easier to understand. i'd never watched any of them before. got this off ebay and loved it totally - music to bop along to and join in and good storyline. easy to understand story and characters are great! def reccommend to anyone any age!

The CD was in good condition Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.

A magical film with the Muppets. A Christmas must have, with Michael Caine playing the miserly Ebeneezer Scrooge and the various Henson puppets bursting into song throughout the film to re-enact the Charles Dickens' classic.
I emplore anybody (irrespective of what time of year it is) to watch this film, as it is bound to leave you in a good mood for days and humming the tunes incessantly to annoy all around you.
A must see film for kids and adults alike!

I bought this as a video years ago when my children were babies. We use to put it on every year when we were putting up the Christmas decorations. At Christmas 2007 it was on television but sadly it was edited beyond belief which I found disappointing but not surprising. I bought the film on DVD so I can play it again every year and possibly when I get grandchildren (my son's won't thank me for that thought!). It's a trip down memory lane, memories which I treasure and want to keep forever.

I loved the Muppets as a Child and stumbled across the film by accident a good few years ago on video. it is AMAZING!!!
My children loved it the first time they saw it and now at 18 and 16 it is a very important part of the christmas fstivities and build up for them and us.
All the favourite muppets are here with a fabulous scrooge aka Micheal Caine he is superb.
The songs are heartwarming and full of the true meaning of christmas. it follows the story closely I can't praise it highly enough.
We got the DVD this year as the video was wearing out from years of watching!!!
Highly recommended for ALL ages .

When I was a kid, I always wanted to see The Muppet Christmas Carol and I didn't know what to expect when I saw it. I'm s thrilled to finally see it and now that I grew up, The Muppet Christmas Carol is one of my top favoruite Christmas movie perfect for every christmas.

Must-have christmas family filmA wonderful family film full of Christmas spirit and humour. Based upon the classic film, 'Scrooge' this really is a must-see film for fans of the original with a sense of humour and a love for the Muppets! Michael Caine (Academy Award Winner) plays the role of Ebenezer Scrooge magnificently and the well-known Muppet characters appeal to all ages, making it an ideal Christmas film. It may even cheer up those real life Scrooges that we all know at least one or two of!!! Well worth buying and guaranteed to raise a smile, so why not add a bit of light hearted humour to this Christmas with the Muppets!

) A really christmassy film that cant help but make you feel all warm inside.
It is also surprisingly faithful to the original Charles Dickens novel even more so than many other films based on it.
You will laugh and cry.
The only draw back is Michael Caines bad acting..but nothing new there.. and a really sappy song in the middle that makes you retch..
But all in all a fab family film

This film is great for all the family. Although younger members of your household may not remember the muppets, there is no way that they will not fall in love with them the moment you put this film on.
Still full of all the zany comedy we know and love, the muppets make this Dicken's classic come to life. Michael Cain is great as Scrooge, Miss Piggy hilarious as Emily Cratchitt and Rizzo the Rat and Gonzo keep you laughing the whole way through with their own brand of narration.
This is a definite winner and will never go out of style.

I already had the Video and decided to update to the DVD as it has become a family tradition to watch The Muppet Christmas Carol every year just before Christmas - it gets us in the mood for the festive season.
So I knew what to expect as far as the movie was concerned, (and of course the story) but was surprised that one of the songs in the Video was not in the DVD. However, I think this actually improved it because the song was rather dated compared with the other music. It also slowed down the pace of the film too much, I felt.
I just think the whole thing is brilliant, the characters, the humour and the sad bits and Michael Caine played a good Scrooge, or rather, an awful Scrooge. For the young and the young at heart (like me) this is great fun. My favourite bits? Rizzo being used to clean the window, Rizzo emerging from a bucket of water as a rat on a stick, and the employees of Scrooge becoming tropical at the threat of redundancy - amongst others.
