Mulan (DVD 2004)

Mulan is based on the true story of a young Chinese girl who defies tradition to fight for her country and her family's honour. In a time when men are superior and women must pass a test to prove that they will make a suitable bride, Mulan decides that she wants to fight with the men to protect China from invasion and represent her family in order to protect the Emperor. She poses as a man to fight for China in a tale of determination to defy the traditions and rules of a corrupt society.

Retold in perfect Disney fashion, Mulan is a memorable tale of how we can achieve anything if we are determined enough. This is another Disney masterpiece for all the family to enjoy. Highly recommended to all.

It's a lovely film and one my Daughter loves - we've only watched it about ten times already!

We bought it because we had seen part of the film on TV and my Daughter wanted to see it all. Well worth buying and very typical of a Disney film.

This movie has girl power written all over it by Fa Mulan in Disneyization fashion.

It is a great movie about honour, courage and love.

I must admit the music is very catchy too! Voice borrowed from Donny Osmond. Great.

It is a different film by Disney, less so American and more cultural of the far East. I must admit Aladdin was a significant triumph but culturally the movie was wrong. If it wasn't for the catchy tunes and cracking genie, by the genius Robin Williams, the story of the street rat done good would have sunk in fast effective quick sand.

Mulan however managed to skip the hurdles of Aladdin and didn't do as well as Al and co animation.
I believe this is due to the seemingly similar stories brought forth by Disney and the capitalising PIXAR group gaining the most income with their more futurist looking animations.

Anyways Mulan is everything that the Disney princess aren't. She's strong, friendly and has a brain! She cares and would put someone life in front of hers and save the better part of China.

Great movie for the modern gals and the better gals. Enjoy!

Great buy, all disney films are fantastic and this is too. The film is very close to the original myth of china and it is the first disney that uses anima animation. It is great!

Very good film. Both Mulan I and II are very worthwhile, very good story-lines.
