We bought the radios because we borrowed some when we were skiing at Christmas and they were ideal in the Alps to find out where the rest of our party was. The idea of buying from the States was because the radios from there are set on a different frequency and therefore you won't pick up other radios in this country when you use them unless people have the same ones.
