When probably the best metal album of all time - No Sleep Till Hammersmith - was released on CD first time round, I was so excited till i popped it in my player. What came out my speakers bore no resemblance to the brilliance of the vinyl release which i had owned since new. To say i was disapponted was an understatement.

This is a true classic album (unlike many other proclamations) and thank god the record company's at last indirectly admitted they had effed up with their 'just chuck 'em on CD' philosophy and repackaged and properly remastered them with some care and attention to the sound. Funny that, I don't know why they thought music and sound didn't need to work together.

NEVER by the un-remastered version of this album - it is truly cack while this remastered version has captured more closely the original sound and the album once more can be enjoyed for the complete blitzkreig on your senses that was originally intended.

Love it. Love it. Love it...

The sound of good old fashioned foot to the floor rock and roll excess. Everything else you know about punk metal is just wrong and this is right. Buy it in the knowledge that every track is worth the asking price, when they are on form Motorhead do not disappoint - and boy are they on form here.

This album defined furious rock and roll. Any faster and it would just be noise, any louder and you couldn't hear it. No one ever did this before and no one else has ever done it better. A press release said "if they moved in next door your lawn would die" and this album shows you why.
If you don't own it get it now, if you don't like it blame me, but i won't care 'cause you must be half dead already!
By the way I saw them half a dozen times on the year this was made, this is as close to being there as a CD will ever be. And yes they were as loud as their reputation. They still are the best live band in town, see them!
Also buy their new stuff, that's brill too!
