As a fan of Ernesto "che" guevara(althought some people think he was a mass murderer), i am interested in all parts of his life especially his early life when he travelled throught latin america where he saw a wide range of people and things. it was trip that made him a different person and a revolutionary later on in his life. This film is a brilliant adaption of the book.i loved it and everyone else should check it out, even the anti-che people.

Che Guevara, story of a legend

I first watched this film when i was traveling South America myself. We were in Ushuaia, the southern most city in the world, in Argentina. 'The Motorcycle Diaries' is a story of friendship, of phobias and the oppression of people. Ernesto Che Guevara, sets off with his best friend from Buenos Aires, to see South America, and get far more than a few stories to tell. This film is inspiring especially if you have been to these places, and even though Che Guevara is still controversial, he had good intentions and he is remembered everywhere.

  My view....

Very well crafted movie that sticks relatively closely to the stories of Che Guevara & Alberto Granado's epic road trip around several countries of South America in the 50's. The film is adapted from the books that Granado & Guevara authored as a consequence of the journey. The journey changed both their lives & their political outlook forever - Che's story is obviously well documented & debated since the trip.

The cinematography in this movie is superb, the stunning scenery of Latin America is demonstrated in spectacular fashion. Although the dialogue is subtitled to English from Spanish, it does not detract from the viewing pleasure that can be gained.
Fans of mainstream movies possibly wouldn't enjoy this film, but if the viewer has an interest in the life of Che Guevara or South America then this film is a good place to start.

  TOP CLASS FILM
Review created: 21/06/08

LETS BARE IN MIND WE HAVE ALL BEEN TOLD ABOUT THIS MAN, AND WHAT A TYRANT HE WAS, AND THE CIA HAD HIM KILLED, BUT THIS FILM GIVES AN UNBIASED REPORT ON THE MAN AND HE WAS A TRULY CARING MAN, FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHTS OF ALL SOUTH AMERICAN PEOPLES, ESPECIALLY THE POOR, WHO WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE TO SHOW HIM KINDNESS ON HIS TRAVELS.
THIS IS INDEED A BRILLIANT FILM, ANYONE WILL ENJOY THE FUN AND THE SERIOUS SIDES TO THIS FILM AND I RECOMMEND IT AS "A TOP FILM TO SEE BEFORE YOU DIE"

This film is a film you will want to watch over and over again, the film is about two young men on a trip of discovery of their country surounding them and they discover about themselves. Its funny, moving and most of all an inspiration and credit to the human race, how one person can make a difference.
