Most Haunted - Series 10 - Complete (DVD)

Whether you belive in the things that go bump in the night or not, this DVD will certainly get those brain cells thinking. Either trickery or the reality of the after life trying to contact the present time, needs to be beleived by the individual. This series 10 which contains 11 episodes will certainly challenge your perception of these "supposed" ghosts. This year sees the introduction of a new historian Leslie Smith who certainly lives up the investigations. What is good about this series is that the historian knows her stuff, and has a genuine love for things, and times gone by. This clearly emmunates when she introduces each historical event prior to each investigation. This series is different from the rest in the sense that it seems to contain more ghostly apperitions than previous most hauntings. There tend to be a frequency of less light anomilies (orbs), and fake possessions (Derek Akorah), but with different psychic abilities, auditory phenomenon, and visual apperitions which do on the surface seem to be genuine. Although, not as many episodes as previous series, this collection of most haunted does indeed tend to provide much in the way of compelling television. There are less "replay's" which go a long way in showing that the activity is more prominant, and less in the distance but more in the forefront. Even to the sceptic, this series can still be viewed and enjoyed with some degree of belief. The group vigils provide much humour, and sense of entertainment, especially when the three prominant ladies take to the forefront and "brave it alone". Yvette Fielding (host, producer), Cath (wardrobe and make-up) and Leslie Smith (historian) are testament to this. You will often find the words "Could you make a sound if you are here with us". Which more often than not prevails with the three women hearing something, but as they usually talk, all you generally get is "no sound" and the women screaming and running in the distance scared of the howling wind in the background. Even the psychics prevail in titilating the humour bones with panicked breath saying, "oh my God there is a dead body over there", and in general terms they are more frightened, and jumpy than the teams leading the investigators. There are several good episodes which include Morecombe winter gardens and pembrey woods, which do challenge the logic of the idea or perhaps the reality of the after life, culminating in the spirits and ghosts.

In summary, for what you get in the series is well worth the value of your money. It contains 11 episodes which if not, are compelling viewing. The variety of differnet mediums, and locations certainly make this most haunted series different from the rest. Ciaran O Keiffe the ever present parasychologist, even at times seems to be intrigued by the ghostly goings on. However, in concluding in Ciran words i'd say "i'm still sceptical", but still open to suggestions. After all there has to be something there. THIS DVD IS CERTAINLY WORTH BUYING if you're after many hours of entertaining pleasure. Halloween is just around the corner, it would make a great gift idea. All it leads me to say is "goodnight, sleep tight", and roll on series 11
