The Bread Maker was everything I expected it to be at a very reasonable price. There is little more that I can say other than there is nothing to be dissatisfied about with my purchase.

  Bread Maker

Went to a dinner party and my friend had made her own bread. I presumed (wrongly) that it would be a long winded process and she told me how it easy it is. Came straight to e-bay and found my bread maker for a great price and now I make bread all the time and haven't bought bread from the shop since! It's incredibly easy to use and the smell of home made bread is fabulous! The only down side is that it is quite a large piece of equipment so you need room for it!

Once you get the hang of it it is fine, at first I had a few crators and the bread not rising, but i found if the stick to the correct measurements and get use to the machine it is fine, one disadvantage the bread handle i felt was not strong enough and i just resort to using the oven gloves to get the hot bread out.

It delivers a great end product and SO easy to use. Highly reccommended to anyone. A perfect product.

Brilliant.

For a novice like me that has never made any bread by hand it is excellent.

I had made my first granary loaf within a few hours of unboxing it.

It is so easy to use, everything you need comes with it. The loaves are brilliant.

Best purchase I have made in ages.

Bread Machine - Morphy Richards 48268
Review created: 02/07/08

I am very pleased with the purchsae in general, easy to use. blade does get stuck now and then but apparently most bread machine blades do. Leaves a whole in the loaf. My only critism - the recipes advise dried milk powder and use sunflower oil, I was hoping to make healthy bread, so I am having to experiment and discover my own way with the machine, I think Morphy Richards could put a little more effort into their Recipe Page as when you first buy a machine you are generally needing guidance. Bread is nice and it really is very straigtforward to use.

  MORPHY RICHARDS 48268 BREAD MAKER
Review created: 09/06/08

This breadmaker is so easy to use I'm sure I could teach my cats to make bread with it.Never made a bad loaf yet and I have tried all sorts of flour blends, even just to get rid of flour we had hanging around since Axmas 2007. The overnight baking is fantastic and easy to use. We like the full size loaf, there;s only the two of us but it goes within 2 days but bread is still ok after 3 or 4 days, no problem. For me, it;s the twin mixing paddles I like best and the reason I chose this one over others. This has to be streets ahead of the rest. One thing I don;t like is digging out the paddles from the finished bread, there is a way to get around this if you are present during the baking cycle but not if you've gone to bed. For me. it;s a BIG niggle but a niggle worth putting up with.

it broke in the first few days!

Made ominous noises and worse bread the first few times we used it. Thought it must be broken but it turned out just to be the flour! As long as you get the right brand of flour it makes good bread. We desided on this model because of the fold down paddle. A great idea but not that reliable in practice and you are still left with a hole in the bottom of the loaf even when it does work as intended.

  DROP -PADDLE BREAD MAKER
Review created: 05/02/08

2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

PLEASE NOTE: I HAVE NEVER USED IT FOR ORDINARY BREAD, & SO FAR ONLY USED IT FOR WHEAT FREE BREAD, ALTHOUGH IT WILL MAKE JAM,MARMALADE,& CAKES.
THE GLUTEN FREE RECIPE INC. WITH THE OTHERS GAVE NO AMOUNT FOR FLOUR - JUST '1 PACK OF....', SO I HAD TO WORK OUT MY OWN RECIPES, AS EVEN VIA THE INTERNET I COULD NOT FIND THE CONTENT WIEGHT OF THE PACK RECOMMENDED.
THAT SAID, THE RESULTS OF THIS HAVE BEEN FINE, MAKING GOOD, OPEN BREAD WITH MY OWN MIXES OF ANYTHING BUT WHEAT OR SPELT.
THE PADDLE REALLY DOES DROP DOWN, & I FIND THIS A REAL BONUS COMPARED WITH THE PREVIOUS MACHINE I HAD ~ YOU GET ONLY A SMALL HOLE IN THE LOAF. THIS IS THE REASON I CHOSE THIS MODEL, & IT WAS THE ONLY SUCH AVAILABLE (END 2007)
THE ONLY REASON I HAVE NOT RATED IT EXCELLENT, IS BECAUSE:
a)I HAVE NOT FULLY USED IT.
b) LACK OF WHEAT & GLUTEN FREE RECIPES ~ I REALLY THINK THAT BY NOW ALL MANUFACTURERS SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DEVELOP MANY RECIPES.

This bread maker is so easy to use and being stainless steel looks good out on the worksurface (which you will need to do - we use ours nearly every day!)

We have made various savoury loaves as well as naan bread, pizza dough, crumpets, muffins and my favourite camembert and red onions in a bread parcel (it all oozes out once cut!)

My in-laws were so impressed that we have bought them one for Christmas!

You can even set the timer to have the bread finish cooking for when you wake up!

If you are looking for a bread maker, this one is probably one of the best, It has a paddle which drops down during baking, it still leaves a hole in the bottom of the loaf but no where near as big a hole as the one my parents have got.

I would recommend buying another recipe book as the recipes included in the manual are good but tend to use a lot of sugar leaving the bread quite sweet.
We got a good book from amazon for about £4.

Unpacked and Baked Bread same day, bread rose beautifully crisp and crusty outside and soft inside bought at a bargain price from Union stores and customer sent back i could see why as the mixing blade was scratched they had baked and found blade is inside the cooked bread when removed and they had dug it out with a sharp knife, this does not distract from the performance of thr bread maker and you just loose the first slice of bread to retrieve it.
Great if you can get it at £25.00 as i did plus postage.

  Great breadmaker
Review created: 31/01/08
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

When I first got it I was a bit disappointed as the bread was a bit rock like... However, on testing with different ingredients I have found that to get it to rise well (particularly in the winter) it needs warmer than tap water to get the yeast to work.

I've made loads of the recipes. Love the herby bread but best is sundried tomato bread - yum. The sweet loaves work well too - like the toasted tea cake loaf.

Having the special paddle is great as you don't get a huge whole in the bottom.

Great breadmaker

I love making my own bread as you know what is in it...But every loaf I have made the blade has cooked inside the bread and I have such a job to get it out I have tried soaking it in Veg oil...even bought a new blade but unfortunately it happens every time....other than that it is a great looking machine and at the moment seems to be working well.

We wanted a good quality bread maker that would be easy to use, look good and perform well, after initial research we were recommended to the Morphy Richards Bread Maker that was retailing at Agros for £69.99 so we thought lets look on ebay and sure there were a few being sold, I bid for the item and grabbed a bargain at £21 + postage, many thanks to ebay for a great bargain
