i bought this as id wanted to see it for ages, when i bought it i was really pleased, but then 2 days after i bought it they played the film on channel 4, gutted! oh well this is a 1st class film and charlize theron puts on a fantastic performance. she looks so different to the beauty she is naturally, its amazing its the same person. the film is great, a bit sad but you can see she has a good heart in there somewhere, worth watching.

Monster is a heart wrenching film about a lady who turned bad due to being treated bad herself. It is based on a true story. Charlize Theron's performance is amazing. She piled on weight for this film and played the part of a lady serial killer with perfection. The film takes you on a journey of how good can turn evil. She was treated bad and then took her anger out on other people when life became too much. All she wanted was love and respect.

Monster is an eye opening and shocking master piece that actually shows us the other side of evil people. What made them turn evil and what events in their life made this transformation happen. Monster has a great soundtrack too. If you like a shocking and unpredictable movie that leaves you on the edge of your seat, this is the film for you.

This was not an easy movie to like but I was so enthralled at Charlize Theron's makeover and performance that it took center stage over the story.

Theron's physical transformation from the incredibly beautiful woman she is to hard-and-rough looking serial killer Aileen Wournos was just amazing. More than that, I appreciated her effort here, not just with all the makeup but all the mannerisms, the way she walked, moved her head, speech inflection....everything. She was worth the price of the film and I felt the same way after the second viewing months later.

The story is a sordid one, filled with a lot of f-words, so be ready for that if you haven't seen it and wondered about the language. It's very rough. It also includes a lesbian relationship between the two main characters, a relationship I have yet to find that anyone found appealing, frankly.

I may not be able to recommend the movie for its story but if you want to see an actress really step out of her element and give a great performance, check it out. My guess is that you'll either really like this film or hate it.

Excellent film...very well acted by Charlize but a not so convincing effort by Christina Ricci I'm affraid! Very poweful storyline and quite harrowing in parts....one to watch! 4*

Excellent true story, based on the story of America's first Woman serial Killer.
Charlie played a blinding performance. 4/5

i bought it as was true story and about a women getting one over on the men in her life she kills them

good movie worth buying,good performances by christina ricci and charlize theron,i buy a lot of movies and this is one of the best movies in my collection some you watch once then never again but this is one you will watch again i rate it 8 out of 10

based on real story great film good actress think some parts had been omitted overall good dvd good price 8/10

The true-life story of Aileen Wuornos, a prostitute executed in 2002 in Florida after being convicted of murdering six men. While Wuornos confessed to the six murders, including a policeman, she claimed to have killed only in self-defense, resisting violent assaults while working as a prostitute.In 1989-90, a love story unfolds in the midst of the horrors and pathologies of two misfits: Wuornos, a drifter prostitute and Selby Wall, sent by her parents to live with an aunt in Florida in order to "cure her homosexuality". Nearing suicidal despair, Aileen wanders into a bar, where she meets Selby and falls in love. To keep her and Selby's relationship alive, she continues hooking, only to fuel an increasingly escalating deadly rage, a fury vented with a lurid string of killings and the media's sordid designation of her as the first female serial killer--a monster. Monster does take some missteps, relying far too much at times on Theron’s voiceover to fill in gaps in the story, and not really showing us much of Wall’s character. And although Jenkins does seem to be hip to the fact that Wuornos was lying about her supposed motivations for all the killings, the film has a tendency to let her off the hook. Ultimately, though, this is a film with a story, concerned much less with shocking audiences than with showing how a brutalized childhood can result in a brutal adult.

Great film. Fantastic performance by the man character. Worth watching.

I bought this cd for a friend and i will buy more from this seller as items are as described and quickly dispatched. and good communication between seller and myself which i value a lot .
i will be visiting for more dvd's

had heard a lot about this film and wanted to see it myself to see if all i had heard was true.
I must say i was not dissapointed i thought it was excellent and a very strong storyline and i must say that i would rate it as one of the better films i have seen for a long time

i watched the film on tv a while ago, and the documentary. the film kept me gripped the actors played the parts fantastic.well worth watching.

I've watched this film twice, its very thought provocking. You could almost feel sorry for her until she blew it in the end. Excellent performance from Charlize Theron.

WOW what more can i say great film the tension mounts from the very first scene then you hit the ground running with the rest of the film.Brilliant performance from charlize as always and the backing of a superb cast guaranteed to be watching this one again.

i really love this film and i have seen it before and that is why i wanted to own my own copy on DVD. i chose this product in particular because of the low price and low delivery charge.

having read about Aileen Wuornos it was amazing to see a beautiful actress like Charlize Therron put everything in to this role especially physically for quite a likeness which makes you think about the character even more i thoroughly enjoyed this film that is why i decided to buy it.

i really liked this film i like true stories so i decided to buy.i had seen clips of the film in the past and thought it looked good and the transformation in the actresses was unreal never seen a actress like charlize theron look so much like the character she played and you cannot even tell it is actually her who plays her she looks that different and i also liked the acting in the film it was great.there was nothing i disliked about the film at all.
