I could very well be biased about this film, for in my eyes the lovely Sandra Bullock can do no wrong. Her terrific comedic personality really shines out in this, which makes this film excellent entertainment.

Fantastic entertainment
) This film is great at any age, and it can be enjoyed over and over again. Its about a FBI agent who couldn't care less about looking pretty but when theres a threat to the girls at the Miss United States pageant theres only one girl for the job - Gracie. She is made over by a team of experts and taught step by step the ways of 'Miss United States'. Can she stop the bad guys? Or will the pageant go up in flames? Brilliant entertainment for the entire family, Sandra Bullock is perfect in this film.

A surprisingly good laugh
) I bought this DVD as part of a three set (with Music and Lyrics and 2 weeks' notice) as a Christmas present for my wife. I'd watched 2 weeks' notice before and had wanted to see the other two anyway.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this film, after all it is a bit of a girly comedy, but to be honest I really enjoyed the film, from the initial uglification of Sandra Bullock to the unreality of some of it; not quite The Naked Gun, but still slapstick at times. It also sort of reminded me of Thelma from Scooby Doo. I can't remember any bits that stood out as bad, but I can remember some of the interesting costumes and the glass harmonium playing.
All in all I enjoyed it enough to put Miss Congeniality II on my shopping list.

) Another great film, although it is about a beauty pagent! (sorry scolarship!) This film has action, love and comedy rolled into one. Another that I saw who the killer was, but enjoyed it start to finish.

I’m really not sure if the intention of this film is to take the p*ss out of beauty contests or just to introduce a crude, nark sense of humour that we are supposed to find funny.
Labelled as a ‘romantic comedy’, I think I laughed hollowly about twice during the entire movie. If it wasn’t for the all-star cast I don’t think this film would have anything going for it at all!
Somehow I get the perception that, somewhere, rave reviews and critic recommendations (maybe even Oscars) are on the wall (stranger things have happened), but I’m sorry to say that this one didn’t do much for me at all.
I admired Sandra Bullock very much in ‘Speed’ as an actor, but she certainly is a different person now. As for William Shatner and Michael Caine, well! Can we forgive them?
This sort of comedy has to be British. We originated it! Somehow and for some reason (and I'm sure it's a good one), the Americans have tried to mimic our 'nark' sense of humour in truly awful style.
Forget it folks, watch a real ‘Beauty contest’, they are suffering enough as it is!
