Mike Oldfield - The Platinum Collection (CD 2006)

Well, to anyone who's read any of my other reviews it's no secret I'm a big fan of Mike Oldfield's music. I found this 3CD Album in the listings one day and of course I had to have it. Yep, they're all here, all the favourites; all the ones I remember and a few I'd forgotten about too. Pretty much in chronological order as well. Thoughtfully laid out to give a pleasant listening mix. Fairly comprehensive also, there really is something for everyone. The Oldfield die hards will love it all and for anyone who hasn't really discovered this mans supreme talent for musical inventiveness, this collection covers it all. If you like his stuff and haven't got this CD collection, then for pity's sake BUY one. You definately will not be dissapointed!

As for the early days of MIKE OLDFIELD he probably brought forward the concept album, this the collection my favourite is "moonlight shadow" love that song, the tubular bells factor is played on the airways all the time, the influences of music goes through like Steveh Hacketts' Please don't touch album the lead guitarist of the 70s from Genesis.

This album is remastered in its eniterity the music is popular, some of the tracks maybe lost but have been brought back with great production, buy this its a cracker 5/5.

trying to buy this cd for ages. brings back memories when it was first released.This one came at the right price and in excellent condition and an original not a copy.
