The Mighty Boosh - good or bad???

I decided to buy the Mighty Boosh box set because I had seen a few episodes at a friend's house and loved it! The box set came with four DVDs (two for each series) and an exclusive booklet. After seeing the DVDs on sale for £18 each I decided that getting the box set for just over that amount would a sensible buy. The DVDs include lots of exclusive footage, such as interviews, photo galleries and outtakes, and the second (series two) disc includes a random 20 minute comedy sketch called ‘Sweet’ which features Noel Fielding with his invisible girlfriend.
Series one had eight episodes, series two has six. In my opinion series two is better, with classic characters such as Old Gregg (the scaly man fish who is actually a deep-sea transvestite who does rubbish watercolours and drinks Baileys from a shoe). Both series are fantastical and incredibly funny. I would say that it is the most underrated cult comedy show at the moment. The sheer randomness of it is amusing, and each episode is completely different where the two main characters, Vince Noir and Howard Moon, go on adventures.
Series one is set in the zoo where Vince and Howard work with the kiosk vender shaman, Naboo, and their manager, Bob Fossil, who is an American and bordering on retarded. Series two is set in a flat where Vince and Howard live with Naboo and Bollo, the ape. Series two is slightly faster paced; you get into the action more quickly and more tends to happen.
The show is refreshing in a time where phrases such as ‘I want that one’ (Little Britain) are becoming incredibly over-used. The Mighty Boosh seems to suck you in and soon you will find yourself saying random phrases such as ‘I’ll be all over you like a powerful moss’, ‘you’re moves are like being caressed by natural yoghurt’ in everyday language, and singing ‘the soup song’ when you find yourself captured by blue violent dwarves. Another positive to the Mighty Boosh is that although popular, it is not as well known as many other comedies, and so if you and a friend watch it, you can have great fun comparing your colleagues and enemies to creatures in it, (for example, Old Gregg) with them oblivious to what you’re sniggering at.
Overall I would say that this is an excellent buy and I have not met one person who has seen it and hated it. I would recommend anyone to buy this, especially if they have quite a random sense of humour. Booshtastic!
