Mighty Miele Upright!

Miele's S7210 is the starter model of the 5 model line up in Miele's new upright range and what a cracker this model is! Similar to the cylinder models, the new S7210 is a beautifully made upright vacuum that has 1800 watts of variable power and a very quiet motor unless you select the highest setting through its 4 stage rotary control dial - there is no other variable suction upright on the market unless you consider Sebo's smaller Felix - which is similar to Miele's latest vacuum cleaner.
I was surprised to see that the S7210 has a swivel neck compared to our Sebo Felix and as such it is welcome even though the two models are very different both on size and capacity. Whereas the Felix twirls around easily, the S7210 lies flat well just like the Sebo Felix but its main problem is a rather larger surface floor head that can feel bulky. However the Miele has an excellent light gliding factor even though its not as light as my other Sebo. Designed to replace our old Sebo upright, the Miele S7210 even has a similar copied hose with a handle at the back and will not topple over the vacuum in use thanks to a fold down arm hinge on the back.
Generally anyone who buys the Miele will be impressed; it is the quietest larger sized upright on the market, has an aluminum telescopic small height adjustable cleaning extension pipe, great smaller cleaning tools just like our old S380 and against the Sebo, has a larger floor head that still manages to get under furniture. Filtration is excellent and changing a bag is easy peasy helped along by the well oiled door to get to the bin. The suction is excellent. I'm not too keen on having to pedal over surfaces all the time though!
Infact due to its high cost price you get what you pay for the Miele S7210 is no exception here. Yes it lacks the head light of the flagship model but you don't need it for the simplicity and effortless way it travels around corners and gets into easy areas. It is however not as good as Sebo's smaller Felix - but for a larger upright that's quieter than most, I'm very impressed!
