I like nothing about this item as it dosnt do what it supposed to , it says that the distance the radios travel from one to the other is 42km (26 mile) , i have tryed then 3 times once at about 5 mile - no signal, the second at just 1 mile - no signal and the third at the end of my street - ok at first then breaking up transmitting about 1 out of every 3 words, (i can walk from one end of my street to the other in under 2 min

The GXT700 has 22 channels not 7. It transmitts crystal clear and has a very good range, about 26 miles. I bought it to comunicate with friends when outdoors hunting. If kept in high mode batteries dont last very long, but with a set of good rechargeable batteries it has a good performance.

Firstly, the price was most appealing to me. And now that i have it in my possession better than expected. It's clearity is second to none! And good range considering the urban location i'm in.

Very poor range even in open country, strangely enough does NOT pick up any agencies it is supposed to, my other UK versions do????

Good radio, Limited range, Chunky, No call button.Good points: Good sound quality (when in range). Large no of channels (have not had to swap channels yet). Uses 4 x AA batteries (rechargeables are fine - so no expiring like AAA batteries).
Bad points: Theoretical range of 26 miles becomes about 1/2 mile amongst a housing estate. No call button (to send ringing tone, to attract the attention of the other person). Too chunky to secure near your head/neck but if you put it in a pocket, you don't hear the other persons trying to get you.

I am disappointed in my purchase. The radios are sold described as capable of covering a distance of 42 km but if it works within 2 km is already so!!!!

I bought this radios because i need them for my job and the price was excellent.
I like them because they are well made and they have a prety good recieving distance.

when i recieved my item one of the walkie talkies buttons do not work it won't pick up with the other one and i have contacted the seller and he hasn't replied to me . so i am happy that one works perfectly fine but i am angry that the other one don't work and i paid quite a bit of money for them.
