as you are probably aware the Xbox 360 is one of the current next gen consoles avaliable at the moment, there are 3 basic types;

Core Console (with 64MB Memory Card)
Premium (with 20GB HDD)
Elite (with 120GB HDD)

if you are not planning on playing online a core will suit you fine, they all do the same job the spec is identical between them the only diffrence are the extras,

you can pick up a core console with a few games for as little as £100.

games are relativly cheap as well most being avaliable for under £10

I bought it second hand but it's in great condition , almost like new and works perfectly.I would now like to add on certain other accesories to the console.

is the only one you can add a big hard disk and safe the games to the hdd.so you play original and copys on it and you have all the games if you want to the hdd,so you don't use a cds.

Great product!! Bought to have great fun with! you cannot get bored with an xbox360 due to the varied range of games and things to do on it! if you do start to get bored you can then escalate your gaming and tak it online with people around the world!

Great cheap hi-def console, tho is a bit of a lottery but older models as they do not have falcon chipsets and over heat. This cause the 3 light rrod problem, so they ain't that reliable. PS3 Is a better bet for hi-def gaming plus it has a large hard drive, and blue ray disc player. All in all xbox is a great console if your on a budget and cant afford 300 pounds for ps3.

I bought the xbox 360 with a view to swapping out the dvd rom, I already had a spare dvd rom, I should have asked more questions before purchasing to have confirmed this was the right piece of equipment for me, alas, the drive was bad / had already been changed and did not hold the 'key' that is so vitally needed for swapping out the dvd rom - on a plus side - you can £60 to M$ and they will fix it and give me a whole new years warranty on the machine - almost as good as a new one????

If like me you bought an early issue XBOX 360 then your console is at risk from the dreaded three red lights or "ring of death"
Basically what happens is that your xbox does not power on and the normally green ring of light displays three red lights and you probably have hundreds of pounds worth of games that you cannot play.
First thing to check is the power light in the centre of the ring...if this is RED then the problem may just be with the power supply.
If the power light is green however (and it normally is!) then the power supply is OK and you have a hardware problem...The console is prone to overheating and the CPU can become detached from the motherboard if it gets too hot apparently. (My son had left it on for over 24 hours in his bedroom!!!)
This is the point at which I started panicking and searching the web for DIY fixes etc...and came across numerous scams and schemes all of which seemed highly dodgy to me.
I logged in to Xbox Live just to see how much Microsoft would charge me for fixing it and sure enough the console was out of warranty. I continued anyway, interested to see how much it was going to cost me. The 3 red lights fault is such a problem to microsoft that they now fix your console for FREE even if it's out of warranty. You register the repair with Xbox live and they email you a UPS label.
You have to pack the xbox 360 in a box you provide yourself (despite what the website says) and contact UPS to come and pick it up.
It takes a couple of weeks and then they ship it back to you with an extended 6 month warranty on the repair plus a months free gold xbox live membership.
I'm sure the Xbox 360 that they returned to me is brand new as there is now not a scratch on it.
So if you've got a knackered Xbox 360 get in touch with xbox live 1st and remember they can only sell you 1 console but they want to sell you lots of games and they really don't want you to buy a PS3 to replace it do they?

the item was barely what was described. the description was fairly misleading as the console was said to be 4 weeks old but was really at least a year old. also the games work but they are copies. i was alittle miffed but seeing as everything works well and arrived quickly i dont really have any problems.

Easy set up, good quality graphics. Takes a bit of time to register to X box live , but good internet game play.Games are expensive , even second hand , but offer hours of entertainment.

The Xbox 360 is worth its price tag as it is a good all round console made by microsoft. The fact that it is made by microsoft opens up loads of new possibilities that this next gen console can achieve, for example you can link your PC with your XBOX 360 wirelessly or with a ethernet cable sharing music, picture and video files and you can watch or view files from your PC on your XBOX 360, which is a great advantage if it is hooked up to a HD TV. The XBOX 360s' online features are amazing with a marketplace from which you can download demos, videos, music and things to customize your XBOX 360 like themes and gamer pictures, but recently the feature of renting films has become avaliable from new releases to old classics a wide variety is avaliable. Online features also allow the editing of your gamercard which includes :
Gamertag ( the name other users will see you as online )
Gamer pictures
Gamerzone ( represents how you feel about gaming - Pro, Recreation ect.)
Motto
Name
Location (generalize this - London - Do Not specify street names ect.)

Friends are people you either know in real life or meet online that you want to remember so that you can easily contact them in the future, you either get sent a 'Friend Request' which you can accept or decline or you can send a 'Friend request' to someone, then they have to accept or decline it.
Online also has a messaging and private chat feature which allows you send text, voice or picture messages to anyone unless they have blocked you (if someone is annoying or sends abusive messages you can block them but you should also file a complaint as Microsoft want to crack down on abusive members)
You can also private chat other Live members so that you can have a 1-on-1 talk while playing games, you can also do this but on video chat where you can also see each other. (this will require an 360 live vision cam which can also be used in games like Rainbow six Vegas 2)

Games:

The XBOX 360 has a wide range of games stretching from gardening for Piñatas in 'Viva Piñata' to traveling to unknown and/or unexplored planets trying to destroy an evil force in 'Mass Effect' or from realistic race drivers like 'Forza Motorsport 2' and upcoming ground breakers like 'Alone in the dark' there is a game suited for everyone. Despite the bad press Microsoft received for 'The red ring of Death' (a design fault leading to many 360's breaking) the 360 still sells world wide as it was delt with more than professional by recalling damaged 360s and replaced it free of charge, however this has never happened to me or any of my friends and has been sorted now.

Overall the XBOX 360 in my opinion is the best next gen console on the market and is a lot of fun when playing with friends
