Michael Jackson - Blood On The Dancefloor (CD 2003)

This album was released soon after the HIStory album. A total of 8 tracks were taken from HIStory and remixed, only the remaining 5 were new. Whilst this is a bit unusual for an artist the remixed tracks are very different to the originals so at least that's something. As for the new tracks, well they are absolutely astounding.

Stranger in Moscow is another great track on this album that deserves a mention. In the video it appears that Michael is walking through the streets of Moscow in the rain, when in actual fact he is walking on a treadmill in a studio. Very clever use of special effects there. He has been quoted in the past as having said he wrote this song whilst in Moscow and feeling very alone despite being surrounded by people. Very poignant indeed.

Or how about Earth Song? Who can forget the masterpiece video that accompanied that track. Out of all the artists in the world no-one can doubt that Michael comes up with the best videos to accompany his songs out of everyone in the music business. Each one is carefully put together until it reaches his almost impossibly high standards. Truly the King of music videos.

This album has gone on to become the biggest selling remix album of all time, and it's not hard to see why. However, due to its remixing of tracks from the previous HIStory album (some of which were done, well, badly) I have rated this as Good. If all the tracks were up to the standard of the title track and Ghosts, I would have given it an Excellent rating.

If you like remixes, this might be for you. But it's worth buying for the title track alone, even if you don't like remixes.

the tracks are fantastic on this cd, i bought it as im a huge fan of the great man himself. i would recommend all to purchase this one.

Loved this album! Especially loved Blood on the Dancefloor and the remix of You Are Not Alone! Michael's vocals and background vocals as fantastic as ever.

Love that its in great condition. One cd i had to add to my MJ collection. And not always easy to find in stores. GREAT GREAT PRODUCT!!! Remixes the great mans songs a nice twist to an extraordinary artist.

I am interested in mint condition cds. The description of the cd was well written and the buyer was honest. The cd and booklet was in very good condition, only a very small tear due to the case not the seller. The cd has no markings - all is good so far.

Amaizing dancy album from the late MJ (RIP). Bless him. This album is full of dance surprises! Esp like Earth Song which is excellent mixes the ethnicity of African sounds with the original score and a few dancy rhythms thrown in! You cant go wrong ... buy now!! Also the album is quite rare, I have not seen it in any of the shops selling the late King of pops other excellent tribute albums - so get it now before its too late .....

wow what a fantastic album i had this album before but never got round to listening to it then again i was still smitten with thriller and bad and dangerous but i must have misplaced it but it is absolutley brilliant recommended buy for any jacko fan i have all he's albums now and will never get rid im doing me copies of the ones i have to keep the originals in mint condition i give this album 10/10 a +++++++++++++++++ class

I bought this simply because no-one seemed to think it was great. I wanted to hear how MJ failed, but I found something different when I listened to it. I think this album will come to the fore as time goes on. Listening to this makes you realise that even though MJ was often considered odd, he was more than human and felt some kind of pain from his fame. Listen to every track, then...listen closelt to every track. See what I mean? Definitely underrated and most definitely Michael at his most communicative.
Michael you were never meant to grow old, but your music will be around forever. Thankyou.

For some reason, "Blood On The Dance Floor" is never as widely promoted as any of Michael Jackson's "normal" albums. Instead, it is shoved awkwardly into the "remix album" category; somehow not worthy of equal success or promotion.

However, anyone who listens to this album will soon come to realise that it is just as good as any other album Michael Jackson has thrown out there. Whilst it is true that the majority of the tracks are remixed version of some of his "HIStory" releases - 8 in total - there are also 5 brand new, excellently-crafted compositions, including the title track, which was a number one hit in the UK back in 1997.

The new songs explore seduction, drug addiction and Michael's public image, amongst other things. They are, in order of appearance on the album, "Blood On The Dance Floor", "Morphine", "Superfly Sister", "Ghosts" and "Is It Scary". All one needs to do is take a quick listen to them on YouTube to realise that this album is indeed a well-worth buy.

This album has many tracks that have been previouly released, but they have been re-mixed from the HIStory album. i loove Blood on the dance Floor, one of Michael's best tunes. if you love Michael's music, then you'll love this album
