At Last - A Focking Great Comedy Sequel!!
3 of 5 people found this review helpful.
After sequels to Star Wars, Batman, and The Matrix, you were probably thinking why the fock should I bother to buy another sequel DVD or go to watch another sequel at the cinema, and with comedies this has typically be even more true - just think of how you felt when you thought Robin Williams announced he was doing a sequel to Flubber. Well, here is one to prove you wrong. Meet the Fockers is one of the few comedy sequels that delivers.
Stiller, de Niro (back to his best after the comedy-come-film noir Rocky and Bullwinkle), Hoffman (still looking for second base), Streisand (as Mother Focker) are all on tip top form. If you remember Stiller in the first movie he brings all of his puppy-dog innocence to this flick, and of course his deadpan comic style which gels beatifully with the old Streisand slapstick which has not be seen since the late 80s. With Hoffman and De Niro going at it head to head as the two fathers you also get that same feeling as you got when you saw de Niro and Pacino together for the first time on screen in Heat - momentous cinematic moments, but this time you can laugh at the same time!! There is no heat around the corner with this one folks, just a lot of great laughs for all the family, and some for just you (and not the kids!) to enjoy.
