The Mavericks - The Mavericks (CD 2003)

I had not heard any of the tracks on this album when I bought it on eBay, but did have a couple of other Mavericks CD's that I really like. When it arrived I put it in the car and played it on a long journey, wondering what to expect. It started brilliantly - fantastic opening number. Then the next track was great too. Could this quality last? The answer is a definite "yes". The entire album is made up of excellent, tuneful songs, superbly played and sung. In my opinion this is the best Mavericks album. The style of music defies being categorized because it is so varied. There's a hint of country, a touch of blues, a bit of pop, some Cuban influences, a little bit of jazz - and a lot of rhythm. This is a fully rounded, hugely entertaining and wonderfully crafted set of quality, popular music. Very few CD's or albums keep the quality going from start to finish, but The Mavericks is one of the rare issues that does - splendidly. If you've heard any Mavericks before, then you will not be disappointed with this CD. In fact you will probably love it. If you are a newcomer to The Mavericks, this CD will entrench you as a new fan. All I can say is that this CD is a 'must buy' that will become an instant firm favorite. Enjoy.

this cd of mavericks is great.i like all the songs on the cd.it was a great price to as i got it for 99p if you like your country this cd is a must and it will be ok for all ages and a good xmas gift.well i hope this helps you all.

Have always loved the Mavericks but found it difficult to get to a music store (not always able to buy this kind of CD in supermarkets) Now I am on the internet it was so simple to purchase. Great CD!
