It has been twenty years since Don Diego de la Vega (Anthony Hopkins) successfully fought Spanish oppression in Alta California as the legendary romantic hero Zorro. He transforms troubled bandit Alejandro (Antonio Banderas) into his successor, in order to stop the tyrannical Don Rafael Montero (Stuart Wilson), who robbed him of his freedom, his wife, and his precious daughter Elena (Catherine Zeta Jones) all those years ago.
The Mask of Zorro follows Alejandro as he embarks on a passionate journey of love and honour, tragedy and triumph in a swashbuckling epic adventure.

) A good film that takes the cartoon hero zorro on to the big screen. starring antonio bandereras, anthony hopkins and catherine zeta jones. full of humourous stunts and swash buckling fight scenes, its a good film for family entertainment, though some parts are advised against childrens viewing. it can sometimes lead on to an all to humourous aproach and we see our hero taking down armies of soldiers with guns and swords with very little trouble.. slightly far fetched, but amazing acting inspired by the main actors and actress and overall a good family film that is not only entertaining but also a film that takes us closer to som of the characters... for example, anthony hopkins stars as the father who's wife was killed and his child taken from him, now he trains antonio to become the legend he was o evange the death of his brother. a film that takes us into the heart of our hero and also there is a very powerful plot to find the family he has lost. a very good film overall.

What a great filmWatched this film on the TV and thoroughly enjoyed it. Far fetched but exciting, extremely funny - ridiculous in places. Romantic and touching. Had me laughing, in tears and totally engrossed.

The kids really went for this one, good clean family film. The story is full of action and drama. great storyline throughout, I would recommend this film to anyone with a sunday afternoon to while away, maybe not one to get the friends round to watch.
