Martina Cole - Double Bill (DVD)

My sisters all being fans of martina's eventually bit by bit wore me down, and I gave up and read 'Dangerous Lady',I thought it might be in the Barbars Cartland mold, but boy was I wrong. gritty, down to earth, hard, gangsters, molls, London, mean streets, the list goes on, the realism just flows from her pen, her research is second to none, it seems she almost must have lived the life, well I digress, after the first novel I devoured the rest in no time, and thought what good films some of the books might make, and not having the slightest idea Thames Television had indeed done this. As you can well imagine the first thing I did was a mad finger quivering search through ebay, and yes there it was, so not being patient enough to bid I clicked the 'Buy it Now' icon, and the DVD duly arrived. That very night, armed with a nice Indian takeaway and a few 'tins' I pressed the play button.
I watched both that very evening, and can honestly say I really enjoyed both, although being a bloke thought 'The Jump' edged the two films, excellent cast, with some faces you will instantly recognise and love, one or two were born for the part, in 'The Jump' the double dealings, passion, back stabbing, lust and sheer realism is a treat, I ended up shouting at the TV and hated certain charaters, so that's a sign of good telly, I forgot they were actors 9 am I sad or what ).
If you love Martina's books then I can honestly say you will love this. And for around £ 8:00, so don't just sit there, get those fingers tapping and search and buy...........NOW.
Oh and for the record........Yes I am of the male species.

ive been wanting this dvd for a long time and saved money by buying it on ebay. martina cole is my favourite author and the dvd was a good buy..

Read everything by Martina Cole, EXCELLENT!!! Remembered seeing the films on tv years ago, so I thought i'd re watch them. Both very good. Only complaint is the gaps where the adverts were, you just on edge of seat and have to wait for a minute for film to resume. A must see.*****

This dvd was impossible to find and having read the books of the same titles I had looked everywhere for it, to no avail.......except, I had'nt looked on Ebay.
The dvd was on 'Buy it Now' which meant I did'nt have to await the end of an auction. I paid immediately and received my purchase two days later.
Brillianrt service from the seller and the DVD was well worth the money I paid for it which was very reasonable....Excellent all round.

I wanted to watch the martina cole dvds as i have read the books and they are great,this double dvd is just what ive been looking for it is realy good well worth watching weather your a fan of her books or not.

i bought this product as i had read the martina cole books and wanted to see if the dvds were just as good and they were.
i really enjoyed the dvds even tho they each went on for almost 4 hours but at least nothing from the books was left out.

I absolutely loved this double DVD. I have read every one of Martina Cole's books (several times infact) and have been waiting to watch this for about 4 years. Now I have my own copy and it was fantastic. They are both brilliant on their own or as a sideline to the book. Brilliant. 10 out of 10 Martina. Always a pleasure to read. She has many more books out than what they made a television series from, maybe they should consider making more into a television series - now that would be great. Each one, although divided into 4 separate episodes, I felt, had to be watched in one sitting. I could not walk away from them once I had started watching them.

Having read both of these books and enjoyed them I thought I would purchase the DVD.I am alsi a fan of british film so on a second level I would have made such a purchase.
Well as with most british drama, great acting and a slick story line.

Really enjoyed it.

Am a great fan of her books i just cant put them down when i saw that there was a dvd available on 2 of her books i could not resist, and have to say was not disappointed, i hope all hers books will be made into dvds!!
Even if you have not read the books you will still enjoy but buy the book as well!!

I brought the dvd because I'd read the books, but the film was very old and poorly made by todays standards!

I bought this DVD as I have read all 13 books and decided that it would be good to watch the dramatisation.

A big fan of Martina Coles books and she didn't let me down on the DVD series really pleased with the series hope she makes more of them.

I bought it because I am a massive fan of Martina Cole books an have never actually watched any if them as drams. I don't have sky tv so couldn't watch The Take so came on here to find as many of them as I could.

I have read a couple of Martina Cole books and love them, and wanted to see the DVD's to compare. I would probably say that I prefered the books, but probably because I read the books first and your own imagination can 'create' the characters differently! Still a great watch!

Wife is a martina cole buff, loves all her books so when i saw this dvd i just had to have it.will come back to this seller.

martina cole brilliant author so having dvd is a bonus.another author who i found was very much similar to martine is Jessie Keane she should write autobiography, would be a fantastic read.

Martina cole books are excellent reads the jump and dangerous lady are well watchable show a good insight into the other side of life interesting characters..but i must say that the take is in a different class all together a brilliant buy and i would advise any one to purchase you will not be dissapointed cant wait for more films from martina cole in the future....

Fantastic films by a brilliant author, had me rivited all the way through both films, but must admit the books are in greater detail, but still well worth watching, I hope her other books are made into films very soon. Fantastic!!!!
