The Man Who Sued God (DVD 2003)

my wife and I love billy connolly but this dvd had funny bits and the story line made you think, but we will only watch it maybe once again, it is not something that you would look at time and again.

Billy Connolly has always been a star!! But (in his acting) he just seems to get better and better as the years go on!! He was particularly good in this film - and the rest of the castblended so well!! I HAD to have a DVD so that I could watch it over and over again!

Great concept, Great acting, Great dialog, if I could hear it clearly. The sound mix is terrible. I would buy it again, if they repaired the music, so it is background and not over powering the script.

this film is great,full of wit and humour,if an insurance company has ever refused your claim and said it was 'an act of god',this film is for you.You wont be disappointed.

I have wanted this film for ages and it was quite hard to get hold of. i wanted it for a xmas present for my partner as billy connelly is one of his favorite comedians

Film had been on the television and my inlaws missed it, heard rave reviews about it and tried to buy it from local shops. DVD only available at hugely inflated prices so I checked it out on Ebay, found it at a great price, bought it, surprised them with it and secured my place as the world's best daughter-in-law!

Excellent film; funny, sad, romantic, the lot - a must for all Billy Conolly lovers, and even those who don't especially love him! Fisherman loses everything - insurance company won't pay as it's seen as an Act of God, fisherman sets out to sue God. Much more to it than that, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone....

Very funny. Worth a watch. Billy Connolly makes this great. One of the best British films i've seen.

FANTASTIC AND HILARIOUSLY FUNNY FILM ABOUT A MAN WHO'S BOAT IS RUINED DURING A STORM. BILLY IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES SO THIS WAS A MUST HAVE FILM FOR ME.
ALL THE OTHER CARACHTERS GEL WELL WITH THE BIG MAN.
THIS WILL HAVE YOU IN STICHES BELIEVE ME.

Where to start this review? Well first a brief review of the film, very good. I chuckled many a time, i thought about some of the issues raised and felt rather frustrated with the law.
The film is Based on Billy Connollys character, who tries to claim money after his boat is destroid in a storm. He trys to claim money but can't since it is an act of god- thus he takes god to court!
Some of the points I must make before you whip out your card to buy this film. Firstly, don't expect Billy Connolly comedy here, just because he's in it doesn't mean its his humor...he didnt write it. Even though this film is funny, its not his sort of funny.
Also something else to be prepared for is surprising twists and sub stories in the story line, and also feel prepared to feel frustrated for Billy.
It is a good film, i really liked it and I think this is one for more grown up families to enjoy.
