Magimix 5200 Stainless Steel Food Processor

I was asked to review this Magimix. I wish I could. I purchased it in December 2007 from a so-called Ebay Trader, MisterBanjamin, paying £167.99 for it as a Christmas present for my 70 year old mother. I waited two weeks and nothing arrived. Christmas came and went and I had no present to give my mother. To cut a long story short this Ebay Trader had carefully built up a 100% profile over three years selling low value items in order to gain buyers' confidence. Then he started selling high value items once he had over 50 customer feedbacks at an overall rating of 100%. Suddenly, during the month of December 2007, MisterBenjamin placed items of very high value, having gained the confidence in his buyers that he was a legitimate seller with 100% positive feedback - and conned 24 people out of nearly £11,000 of fake items - netting all the cash for himself, then disappeared. You would have thought Ebay, the police, and Trading Standards would have taken an interest in what was clearly organised daylight robbery, but they didn't. Ebay have not even had the courtesy to respond to our numerous disputes, and the seller has o course vanished off the face of the earth. All of the other 24 victims have been left high and dry and the only support we have is an email network we (the victims) have set up to try to recover our funds. Some items bought by the victims were £500+ but Ebay could not have been less interested or helpful. The only way I would recommend buying anything on Ebay now is via Paypal, (although I shall never support a company who dumps its customers in the way it has us so I personally will never use it again) because at least you are protected. (This seller of course did not give the option to buy any of his items via Paypal, of course!) Sorry I could not review this item for you, but hopefully this story will prevent you falling into the same trap as us, so you might have learned more in the long run about the pitfalls of using Ebay than whether this Magimix was a good buy or not.
