This unit is good value, but can be aggravating when it can't find where it is and some destinations are hard to locate with it's search facility. Also you can't put a post code in which is a pain at times. Lastly the maps are a bit out of date and if you are buying a new unit then I would expect them to be the latest. The updates on their wesite appear to be a bit lonf in the tooth. If you want a budget unit I would still recommend, but if you are pernickety about these things buy more expensive.

The Roadmate 300 was the first Sat Nav that I bought and I thought it was brilliant - but sometimes a bit slow on re-routing. I bought it from Comet at a greatly reduced price - I later found out why it had been reduced:- this particular model has been discontinued and because of this there are no updates available either for the maps or anything else. I contacted Magellan and was informed that they had no plans to issue any updates in the future.
I loved the larger than normal screen, the ease of operation - but without updates it very quickly became useless
