Magellan RoadMate 300 Car GPS Receiver

This unit is good value, but can be aggravating when it can't find where it is and some destinations are hard to locate with it's search facility. Also you can't put a post code in which is a pain at times. Lastly the maps are a bit out of date and if you are buying a new unit then I would expect them to be the latest. The updates on their wesite appear to be a bit lonf in the tooth. If you want a budget unit I would still recommend, but if you are pernickety about these things buy more expensive.

I purchased this GPS system as an ex display model. As such it was brand new, never registered and a third of the full price.
The system is really easy to use with the touch screen or the buttons and gives both visual and audio commands.
It's not so good that it cannot select by postcode. But it does have great detail and can find the most obscure or tiny places in the middle of nowhere.
Although designed for the car, I have bought a mount and power adapter so I can fit it on my motorbike. It works brilliantly on the bike with the headphone attachment. Not waterproof but does the job at a fraction of the cost of systems specifically designed for bikes.
A great buy at the knock down price I paid.

I think previous owner formated it therefore no sound, touch-screen faulty and to repair you have to retun to Magellan RoadMate not worth it so rather to burden anyone else on ebay with it, I gave it away best move ever now got a Garmin nuvi highly recommend one of these
