I got this card as I'd finally made the jump from AGP to PCI-E, but didn't have the money spare to get an 8800. I was pleasantly suprised at the difference it made to the newer games that I had been struggling to run on my old system (ARMA, UT3 and the Crysis demo went from fairly unusable to easily playable). I know it's not the biggest and baddest of the range in terms of brute strength, but I think the 8000's features make up for a lot of the lack of raw power that this card has.
This particular card I got is passively cooled which is a bonus, no extra fan noise (great as I've been trying to quieten my PC in general) and looks pretty good as well - I've got a fairly large side window (Thermaltake Tsunami). The radiator and pipework give it quite a good industrial look actually.
Overall I'm very happy with the card until such time as I can get a 8800 or similar. If another of these comes along cheap enough I'd probably go SLI with them as well.
