Luther Vandross - Dance With My Father (CD 2003)

I bought this CD for the title track which I first heard sung in Tenerife by a professional Luther VANDROSS impersonator. To anyone who has suffered the loss of their father this is a real weepy which still hits home every time I hear it and I can not get bored of listening to this track. The other tracks are also infectious, and really grow on you as time goes by and the more you listen to it. There is nothing I dislike about this CD it is just sad that we will never again hear Luther sing again folowing his untimely death in 2003.

This is an amazing cd it's beautiful easy listening music all the way through, bought originally for just the title track which is a lovely song - this has become a favourite in a VERY large CD collection.

personally, having not heard it, and having bought it on behalf of my sister, i would imagine it is a load of ballard drivel; give me pink floyd, jethro tull & led zep anytime, however it did arrive promptly & well packed

After reading most of the other reviews on this album mine is very much the same, the songs are all great, but the reason I brought this is the same as some others I lost my father, I was driving shopping 1 day and I had never heard this song before and it came on, on the radio, well that was it listening to the words I was driving down the road in floods of tears at dance with my father and came home and said to my husband I have to buy that song to which he replied WHY it will only upset you again and it has but it seems to release some of the pain and hurt for me, I hope it works for you too, take care and be lucky xx

theres nothing bad going on here all tracks are what u expect from vandross shame theres nothing else 2 come from such a talented singer lets hope and pray that some one roots some old tracks from the archives

i was only after couple of songs.saw the cd and bought it.like this kind of music.and after hearing it all love it.there is noting i dislike about it.

I bought this CD purely for the main song "Dance with my Father". The words are reminiscent of how my father would dance with me as a child and how I also danced with my children when younger. Once I listened to the rest of the tracks on this album I was very impressed of the quality for all the songs on the album. Beautiful songs sung brilliantly. This is a must for any collection.

purchased it for one track, Dancing with Daddy, love this, and the rest of the album is great too.
recommended purchase for those lazy sunday afternoons reading a book, good back ground music

this is a brilliant cd.........dance with my father has the most beautiful words ....after loosing my own dad this track is so touching// i recommend it to all as it says what you want to say but its too upsetting to put into words....BRILLIANT TRACK!!!!!!!

Fantastic album, its so smooth and chilled, it is an all time favorite.
It depicts exactly how smooth and sensual and soulfull luther vandross is.
If you want a romantic night in with roses and a snuggle on the sofa this cd is the one to start your evening off with the right mood

I bought this specifically for the title song "Dance with my Father" which was for significant sentimental reasons. I was pleasantly surprised at the other tracks on this CD and feel that it was a good purchase.
