Love Story (DVD 2002)

I bought this dvd for my 15yr old daughter to watch, to see if she would enjoy it as much as i did all those years ago, and yes she did we both were in floods of tears at the end.The best romantic film ever.

This is a classic film that really is a must see even if the type of film isnt normally your scene... I had seen it before many years ago and it just stuck in my brain and just decided i wanted to buy it the other day and now i am a proud owner and can watch the 'piece of art' as much as i like! :-)

A beautifully simple story of human emotions. Shows that you don't need the shock tactics, over exaggeration or dramatisation of todays cinema in order to touch the heart.

This film is one of my all time favourites - a great tesr jerker with excellent acting from a very young Ryan O'Neal and Ali McGraw. The musical score is also excellent by Francis Lai. This is the sort of film that can be watched over and over again.

I have always loved this film and cry buckets every time I watch it! It is a story of love between two very 'opposite' people which is tragically cut short. I won't give away the story just in acse ther is anybody in the entire world who hasn't seen it!!!
I have it on video but obviously DVDs take less space so bought it on DVD. Highly recommended for girlie evenings when there's footie on the box!

Romantic but sad - I remeber going to see it at the pictures when it came out and going away with a big lump in my throat! So it brought some good Feel Godd feelings back!

i bought this dvd for my nan, its her favourite movie of all time she is 84 years old and has been wanting to see the movie for years but didn't know where to find it, she had a dvd player just before christmas and so i decided to get her the thing she wanted most of all..... Love Story.. absolutely over the moon with the gift now i'm number one special grandson

I bought this for the woman i love who had never seen it in her life. I wanted to show her that when you love, 'love means never having to say sorry'. I love the way that you can watch this film in any time in your life and it still signifies true love and sacrifice. I love the morals and courtly love ideals denoted in the story and protagonists feelings and actions. I dislike the tragic ending but this brings home the reality that everyone should live their life with a 'carpe diem'attitude and manner. It represents for me the old saying: 'Loveth is a thingeth as any spirit free, but when mastery cometh love beateth her wings and is anon forever.' The storyline flows and follows two university friends become lovers and then man and wife. It recognises that love has no barriers to class, prejudices etc. It advocates that love is a shared reciprocal entity timeless and special for each couple.
I dislike nothing about this film and would recommend it to anyone who believes in love and would say it's a safer way of recognising it without the realities of realtionships which like the ending always end with one or another being left alone to try and continue living.
