I have discovered Loreena McKennit fairly recently but simply love her style. It is unlike any other singer and has a haunting quality about it. Celtic with masses of orientl spices added. Just lovely.

Loreena McKennitt’s 1994 album, ‘The Mask and the Mirror’ was something of a departure for her. Having established her Celtic roots, she had the confidence and the curiosity to travel further afield in her search for musical, spiritual and philosophical inspiration. It’s a pattern McKennitt would continue in the ‘The Book of Secrets’ a few years later.
